Just imagine Germans had the "Krupp Steel" ability on their tanks that would make them take almost no damage from AT. This is what brace is. It counters the counter to emplacements.
And before you try to bring smoke into play: Any braindead can attack ground and still kill the tank + it costs ammunition + it´s locked in doctrines.
Brace is just that: Invincibility. |
Let´s talk about...
stupid, OP things.
Suck 160gas in 20sek:

destroy 2 huge (pussy)cats in seconds with a no brain "I-WIN"Button

Yeah Relic...pls more Op stuff, so people can abuse it and win situation where your oponent doesnt make one failure...but you have the abilitys to destroy a whole army with one single klick.
while u can safe all the time 1200 Manpower....
Dont come with the argument that the brit was a better player....he fail much time in this game...and guess why the player choose brit as the most picked faction while tournements...expacilly the "best" player.
They abuse chess...and doesnt show much skill....they use the OP abilitys to win.
That game shows perfectly fine how the Panther is bad compared to the Comet. The Panther offers MARGINALLY better AT performance for a crippled AI performance. YOu see Comets piling up Vet easily by killing infantry left and right, while also being able to tackle German cats, while the Panthers can get off some AT shots with a horrendous rate of fire and not much else. Mind you that these are the better Panthers from OKW. Ostheer Panthers are even worse. |
Agreed on the Panther. It serves no purpose and can´t fight cost efficiently versus medium tanks. This is simply bad for a tank that sacrifices 10 range contrary to other dedicated anti tank vehicles. If it could at least kill infantry that would be balanced. But it can´t even do that yet is priced as one of the most expensive non doctrinal units. (I think only the Comet is marginally more expensive for a multitude of the overall usefulness). The Panther can´t even work as a damage sponge since the armor is easily penetrated and protects only against Cromwells, Shermans and T-34-76s. Or in short: The Panther sucks balls. |

They said that there are going to be different patches with different scopes in the future. But this patch, within this scope is really good to the point there is not much more to be done.
Someone mentioned it earlier. I also have no hope in this patch if Ostheer tanks remain in an abysmal state. |
No changes to the Ostheer Panther.
Didn´t I say some days ago that noone who thinks the Ostheer Panther is in a good spot should be considered for making a community based patch? And the fucking Comet, Cromwell, Panzer IV stay as they are? Holy shit, I´m disappointed.
Guess I can go back to Pionier spam though. I have to agree. This patch doesn´t fix weak Ost lategame. The point they were supposed to excell in. Brits are still going to rule supreme form the Cromwell onwards. And the Sniper nerf hits Ostheer the hardest. |
It was missed, that's why it came back. You're only fooling yourself.
Are you serious? This thing was and is outright broken. On some maps it is uncounterable if the German player hasn´t gone for a 105mm. Take Trois Ponts or Crossing in the woods as example. If they are planted behind a building (Trois Ponts) or the big hedge next to the base (Crossing in the woods) they can overwatch the central VP unharmed for the entire game. They can´t be reached by conventional means there and small artillery won´t get them.
The mortar pit or emplacements in general were one of the most hated "features" (if cancer is a feature) of all Coh. |
USF has a few more tools in the kit now. Brits do too. They still have glaring weaknesses. Comets are very good too. Please enlighten us where the British weakness is from mid to lategame with Cromwells, Fireflies, Comets, double Brens (and optional Land matress, AVRE, Artillery cover or Carpet bombing).
"Don´t let them reach lategame" or "use the Panther" (lol btw) are no arguments I can take serious. |
Panthers seemed fine in Coh1 from what I can remember. They weren´t overpowered yet packed a punch. In Coh2 I have the feeling they go from one extreme (overpowered) to the other (absolutely useless) from patch to patch. Currently they are in the underpowered category again.
What do you think are the reasons they seemed way more balanced in Coh1 despite Wehrmacht vet that could be bought. Is it gimmicks like Blitzkrieg that make it harder to balance? Or did they simply get wrong stats? I can´t point my finger at it but would like to see Panthers like they were in Coh1 again. |
Stug pen reliably anything you oppose to with a good dps, gain armor with vet and TWP. all of that for 90 fuel. You only need to have a pair of it + vet1 to counter anything heavy USF/Sov and Brit can field.
It is the best TD in game because of its cost efficiency, get two of them (180 fuel) and next you can focus on killing infantry, nothing under 300 fuel cost will pass through your stugs.
To do the same, USF need to field 2 jacksons: 250 fuel, Sov need to field 2 SU-85: 260 fuel, and Brit 2 FF: 310 fuel.
Yes those deal more alpha damage than stugs, yes as MrSmith says they are better in pack, but who can afford to maintain more than 2 of them with the rest of their army? Your opponent? Well that's probably because he outplayed you.
Now, something to keep in mind is that they are best TD but also not OP at all, you can counter them by many ways which made them simply balanced.
StuGs are outclassed once 60 range TDs hit the field. Thus I wouldn´t count them as the best TD in the game. Sure, they out dps those but have to engage in unfavourable engagements with their 50 range. StuGs also go down very fast.
The Panther on the other hand is pure garbage in its current state. |
Brits destroyed Coh2. There, I said it. Giving them superior late game to Germans was asinine. Since we are obviously stuck with this bullshit design, a Panther buff is needed.
The Panther was nerfed to the weak performance it currently has when it faced
1) US without the Pershing and low sight range Jacksons
2) and Russians with SU-85s that had worse penetration.
This is simply not the case any longer + British lategame dominance has been introduced. No reason at all to keep the Panther small. |
