Imo you can't adjust the Jackson (a lategame unit) without adjusting the Wehr Panther (lategame unit of the weakest faction). The patch is deemed to fail thanks to the so called scope. I can't imagine that not at least a single person of the people responsible for the scope are reading this thread. The issue is well known. |

That unit isn't in the patch scope.
Why would I ever consider going for that unit while the Sturmgeschütz is doing the job better (and tbh is the only thing keeping Wehr in the game)?
Why is Wehrmacht - which is supposed to have an "additional tier" - stuck with a Panther that comes later than the OKW counterpart, yet is weaker (worse MGs, reload time, accuracy on the move, less vet)?
This unit needs something. It fulfills a role that isn't needed and can't fight anything effectively. It's also not going to be any more usfeul if every now and then an ISU or IS-2 hits the field. It still has a horrible rate of fire.

That is probably the best that could have happened, imagine a nerf to the StuG without anything else. Oh well, since we all don't have the clarity of vision Relic has, I guess we can never know the true glorious masterplan they have for this game...
A nerf to the StuG would have killed Ostheer from the game. However not buffing the Panther keeps T4 out of the game. |
No adjustments to the Panther while the Stug remains the same. Ostheer will still have to rely on T3 spam to surfive. Topkek. |
I just want to make sure whether I'm the onyl one experiencing this. And especially with this other thread about revamping the factions for the new patch which will further decrease the effectiveness of Ostheer in many regards (StuG nerf, Elefant nerf, Pak target weakpoint nerf, nerfing Panthers vet), I'm afraid Ostheer will become unplayable.
1) Currently 2vs2s have dumbed down to ever increasing medium tank spam in which all allied factions outperform the Ostheer. It's hardly possible to compete with this. The StuG is the last grasp to win but will get seriously ouperformed by the 60 range TDs of the Allies. And this medium tank spam - which Ostheer struggles to fight - will be made worse with the Elefant damage nerf, no target weakpoint and less StuG penetration.
2) Artillery pretty much counters the whole Ostheer faction. Be it a mortar pit or a Land matress or Katjuscha later. The support weapons which Ostheer needs are easily deleted. And there is hardly a way to counter that as Ostheer.
3) Ostheer still doesnt have any advantage in the infantry department. Penals pretty much destroyed any chance of fighting infantry without an MG42 nearby.
TL;DR: Ostheer is on the backfoot on all stages of the game. Even lategame. It needs adjustments to IMPROVE the faction. Not nerf it further.

The regular Ostheer mortar should get (tuned down) flame shells on vet1 so Ostheer has an effective non doctrinal counter to cancerpits. Everything else will bleed out an Ostheer players mp as was mentioned earlier. |
The Elefant has already been nerfed from 100 range to 70 range. Now it´s not even supposed to coutner medium tanks which already kill it off easily? The Elfeant is punished enough with being LITERALLY the slowest most unmaneuvarable vehicle in the game. With the intended changes it wouldn´t be able to fight anything effectively. Churchills have the HP pool and everythign else swarms it. Some wannabe AI ability to compensate? RIP Elefant. |
Tiger and duoble paks should beat croco and double pounders if yiu use vet1 pak ability. And if thet use skillplanez, you can do yhe same, with SCAS
Except that the Croc will burn the Paks way faster than the Tiger will kill the 6 Pounders. Park a Tiger in front of two 6ps and park a croc in front of two Paks. The Tiger will blow up, the Croc will survife. The flamethrower is annihilating any unit thats not a vehicle... and the turret will still be able to tackle off medium tanks. |
^Relic added stuka dive bomb for those situations. What kind of argument is that? What am I supposed to do in the 95% of the situations I don´t have the divebomb? It´s like telling a US player who can´t coutner the Tiger Ace to use M10s or lose the game in the other cases. |

On topic. Go stugs and 1 pak. The vet1 pak stun will freeze it, so the other tanks (stugs) can finish it.

The point is double 6 pounders (which you have by that time) will kill off the Stug in two salvos. |
