Well we know about the new vet system and at gun changes. I'm really hoping for t34/85 changes, but I expect changes to the new commanders instead. |
I think the fix is to get another option not to simple buff or add to conscripts. Decrease build time on T-1 to .25 of its current amount (giving far earlier access to penals). Increase cost of Soviet sniper to 400, and increase build time of clown car 10 seconds. This would actually allow penals to be used in a window before pgrens show up and own the show.
Snipers are not worth 400 mp. Too much for a unit that can be wiped out with a single rifle nade.
@Wooof - thx for the answer. |
@kinganj- I don't believe Germans need bp1 for Lmg upgrade.
I just have a question. Even without the upgrade, grens have 4 models with more armor vs cons with more and less armor. Doesn't this mean grens on average do more damage and gain vet at a higher rate? |
I had a match where my MG, instead of setting up, just ran away. Not even anywhere in perticular, just off to the side somewhere and not listening to any of the orders I gave him. Worst part was he didn't even bring any of his squad. They were all there waiting for him to set up, meanwhile he was just having a stroll around the map.
Long story short, machine gunners are dicks. |
Overall, conscript sandbags should have a sloped edge on the other side so that the enemy can't use it for cover.
I loathe CoH1 sandbags because the only way they were used was building 1 tiny section of them to pile everyone behind.
I like the CoH2 sandbags, but they're too slow, and too easily used against you in the heat of battle.
I know someone else recommended getting barbed wire on the other side. Only problem is that it means infantry couldn't mantle over it when used as a road block.
Likewise if you had to build that separately, it takes a lot of micro to get conscripts and engineers together, and it's altogether too slow. The amount of micro needed to place down those flimsy defenses wouldn't be worth it as it's just more opportunities for someone to exploit your lack of attention elsewhere.
Or you could do what I do and build a mine on the other side of it. |
It's pretty good.
-High damage
-Wide damage diameter
-Insta gibs infantry and bunkers
-Can't attest to how effective vs. armor, but I would assume the damage is rather significant
-Makes the Wehr arty piece look like a joke.
Well o haven't gotten a direct hit on any smaller tanks but as far as heavies go:
0 vet- Good luck hitting anything
1 vet- 50-70% health
2 vet- 70-90% health
3 vet- Certain death |
Well, I admitt that the Jagdpanther could seem a kind of Elefant, so it could seem usless right now. In my opinion the Jagdpanther (even if it would be not historically accurate) should be the same of a SU85, just more damage and more frontal armor.
I know the Elefant has a better range, vision, armor, damage than the SU85... but it is too costly. Moreover it comes often too late in game. The Jagdpanther could be a cheaper anti-SU unit... at least in a 1v1 fight between a single SU85 and the german tank destroyer.
In short: I hate the way SU85s can literally make a soviet win a game. Yesterday I played soviets in Pripyat (2v2). My team mate was with arty, I had 120mm mortars and guards. We have been beaten at the early game but we managed to hold our ground. After the first pair SU85s we started to pull our enemy back. They tried everything: Pak43 (we destroyed 4 of them in the whole game), flanking with mass of PIV and Panthers, bombing, etc. Nothing could beat our SU85s behind a good wall of conscripts and land mines. It was ridiculous.
It would be awesome too. Love the Jagdpanzer IV!
Finally: the Elefant is ugly while the Jagdpanther is fu**ing sexy! My favourite WWII tank. I'd love to command it on the field! ![:P :P](/images/Smileys/tongue.gif)
And this is exactly why it won't be added. How do you think the soviet players are supposed to kill it. If the su-85's don't work all they have left is their infantry which can't take out tanks alone. The elefant works because even though it beats all armor, it is slow and can be caught by arty and call ins. What you are proposing has none of those weaknesses and can be called in even easier. |
Take it easy there Green, I'm talking about meta and overall game.
If the game was just T-34s versus P4s, it'd be great. But then there's the Panther, StuG, and SU-85.
But the real culprit, and the reason why the Jagdpanther are the call in units. Tigers are obscene right now, moreso with vet and smoke launchers. Almost every game will end up with some mix of tanks involving a Panther or Tiger unless it's over too quick.
That's where the trap of the T-34 death spiral happens. Where the suicidal nature of T-34 use ends up draining more resources as even the best players make mistakes.
And that's why they don't need a Jagdpanther right now. It just has no place.
I have to agree. If the soviets had stronger tanks like the T34/85 in their normal build , then there would be a need for german tank destroyers like the jagdpanther, but there aren't so there isn't. |
It sounds like the next patch will even it out with using veterancy. In the stream it seemed like conscripts might get vet faster to make up for the damage discrepancy. So I'd wait till after the next patch to say they need a upgrade. |

How much is the precision shot? And also what can you use it in. I tried using it on a P4 the other day and it said "can't use on this target"
5o for precision shot, 180 for direct. |
