Oh and do not forget the most important blob example of the entire WWII: the japanese mass charges. I don't remember about successful charges. Strange... they also tried to do that at night, when the enemy should not see pretty well. In CoH, instead, a stupd smoke grenade just make the MG stop... silly gunners, they do not know that the enemy is still there even if they can't see him properly.
You don't get the point. Those CoH games should be like a low profile fight against small battalions. If you have 100 men and you have to win that battle soon, you do not just launch them on the enemy.
I always considered that game a good compromise between the fiction of what is just a game and a real simulator. Unfortunately those irrealistic blobs are just ruining it. I won some games, risking to loose, against clear noobs who just blobbed their men... they just didn't know how to retreat them (lol). Well, after all if you are pinned by an MG and you just get up to run away, in real life you will be probably dead, so those noobs played fair at least!
Blobs on every beach in the pacific. Blobs in Normandy. Paratrooper spam blobs in Arnhem. Russians also blobbed hard. Even the Germans blobbed all their units. You think Hitler played fair against the French? Hell no he selected all his units and A-moved them through the Ardennes in one big blob. At least the French didn't bitch about it like little pussies, they just GGed out of there knowing they got outplayed. Legit.
That's strategy, no tactic. I have never heared about american or german troops just massed and sent into the enemy positions. It happened sometimes... mistakes happen'... they all died. The Blitzkrieg was just a strategy, but during fights they used to not blob their men like in old roman and medieval ages.
Well okay but dem german uniformz are still prettier and dem wunderwaffen are better than the untermenschen weapons
Aahahhahaah! You made my day! XD
THAT is another thing I would like to say about this game: germans < allies but, since people are pro-germanic inside, I still find a very poor ally pool when I look for games. Probably the wunderbare uniforms of the germans attract more people than those russian potato sacks, or the trivial yank's green jackets. Bloody hell! Open your eyes! That's why Relic (damn canadians) always make Allies OP: if they were noraml Untermenschen, than nobody would play them.
That's so sad to see an so unaccurate historical game.
That was one place. One place where the troops had to get ashore. After it had been bombed for hours and it was thought that the German positions were destroyed. US troops weren´t thrown away in suicide charges.
If anybody should be a blob faction, it would be the Russians.
You're right. Well... russians can blob, but if they blob recruits they are not enough powerful and if they blob guards they come too lately. Russians have other OP things like the clown car (still no early effectvie counter if you use OKW).
The problem of the yank's blob is that they are too cost-effective. 280 MP is a little bit more than grenadiers and they are unstoppable even without BAR's and Bazookas. Just mass 3 or 4 of them. If the enemy has an MG, just throw at it a single unit and the rest on the flank.
So, blobbers, do not hide yourself behind silly and innocent comments or pictures. Just get my curse and say goodbye to this world.
Blobbers, I really hope you die stomped by a blob of fat and dumb yanks running into you without a reason. Could somebody tell me why, in a modern war, soldiers just run into the enemy positions? That is silly and there's no skill (so, my dear blobber, die silently and do not dare to complain about this post). Especially yanks can mass their OP ('cause they are indeed) riflemen and win in less than 10 mins. Ridiculous.
Oh... if the admin wants to block this topic (there's no reason since it could also be funny to read), may you also die blobbed by usless dumb soldiers.
Mabye the Luchs is better: it can shoot while running and has a little bit more survivability.
Anyway the Flak-Track is quite good in suppressing enemy infantry. It's like a more powerful Kubel with a longer range.
I feel like the way to play OKW is to minimize capping in favour of early harassment with storm pios and kubel wagons. You can decap your opponents stuff, which will hurt him greatly. And you'll likely inflict heavy MP losses.
I haven't played against Soviets yet though. It works great on Americans.
EDIT:
Here's a replay of a build I'm working on that demonstrates this.
I think this is largely due to the income penalty. Map control is just not worth as much for OKW since you gain 33% less munitions and fuel.
Maybe agressively pushing for the enemy cutoffs, or at least harassing it constantly, would be an option?
Any Ally player who play against OKW knows it and he/she will keep at least a fuel in order to have vehicles or tanks as soon as possible.
Thansk for your tips TNrg. Since I have not specific troubles in the early game (Sturmpios and Kubel are awesome in combination) I will keep in mind your suggestions about the start of the armor warfare.
