I think it will be a Mediterranean Italian/German army. That way they could still pass them off as a afrika army for campaign missions and maps with restricted units.
I just don't see them adding a exclusive afrika army. It's just too restrictive and I know for sure that the british won't be afrika only since they want to use their later stuff and they will want the armies to match up like the other ones. |
Firstly, you can use it whenever you want, only trolls will have sth against it. Seconly, due to overwhelming mess and imbalance there is nothing like sport or competitive play above 2v2.
Considering the state of US late game I don't think anyone can fault them for using any advantage possible.
|
It's a design choice. It's not so much intended as it was the result of how they designed the US, and they aren't going to fix it since it has a low impact on games and would take too much effort to get rid of. |
They will probably be the most defensive allied faction. Probably lots of emplacements like bofors and stuff. |
Seems like the models spawned slightly inside the tanks model and where abruptly crushed. |
Something definitely needs to happen to heavies. They really just don't have any real downfalls. Either counters need to be more effective against them or they need to lose something so they aren't as effective/resistant in every circumstance. Reducing their mobility is definitely one way to go about it. |
The M-42 wasn't really "crummy". It had 51mm meters of penetration at 1000m, enough for a PIV. For example zis-3 had 67mm at 1000m.
And zis-3 was definately more common than the m-42 in 1943-1945.
I meant in game. My point being that Japan can use a field gun as well, which they had a few of. There are plenty of options to get creative with.

The problem is Japan never focused on developing their army, they had good support weapons like mortars and MG's, because they focused on massed infantry warfare, not tank battles or long drawn out sieges. They had good fighter craft and naval ships because that's what they needed.
For the factions in europe, you can give them rarer units to balance things out because said rare units did in fact exist. Short of literally making up units that didn't exist you couldn't put a Japanese army in coh2.
The most common AT gun the soviets used was the crummy m42. Yet their nondoctrinal one is a field gun. They could do the same thing for the Japanese as well. Japan had quite a few seldom used things that would help make them balanced. |
Soviets have everything they need to not be so dependent on call-ins they just are in the wrong place or have stats that don't cover their necessary roles.
They need to swap the t-70 with the SU-76. Then the SU can be changed to give T3 the AT and and indirect it so desperately needs and the T-70 can give T4 the AI it needs as well as scout for the other 2 units in the tier. Then the tiers would be self-reliant and not need doctrines to fill their gaping holes.
They would also need to change penals or switch them with guards so they can get the elite infantry they need without a doctrine as well.
Peter said twice in streams before he left that the reason they haven't dealt with the call-in meta is because the soviets are so reliant on it. So after that's all done all they have to do is slap tier restrictions on call-ins and bye-bye call in meta. |
That's the issue tho, to make Soviets less reliant on commanders would require a total revamp not only of the commanders but the entire faction which isn't something Relic are going to do.
Such exaggerations. They need like two units swapped and a few buffs. These total revamps you keep crying about are never going to happen, nor should they. Need I remind you about the "revamp" you proposed and how well that thread went. |
