Technically, the Sherman has worse shells than the P-4 in both regards. It is not trading shell selection for better shells, it is trading shell selection for repair crew.
This is why the 76 and the E8 have iffy AI cannons. They get repair crews AND a multipurpose shell. So they made the shell less multipurpose.
Close up the Sherman's AP round has higher pen than the P4, though obviously its going against generally higher-armour targets, and the mid-long range pen is indeed worse.
The HE shell is extremely good however, to my knowledge. |
What's illogical is that only the Sherman needs to do it, whereas all other tanks seem to load different shells for different targets by default.
Other tanks just use the same shell for every target, which is why they're not as good as the shermans' specific-use shells. The ISU-152 has a similar shell switching mechanic, incidentally. |
Well when it comes down to it, the Sherman ammo switch doesn't have a logical explanation to it outside of game mechanics, nor does the ZiS-3/SU-76 barrage ability, when contextualized with the shortcomings of their normal attacks. At least this has a rationale associated with it: the MG team is switching focus between accuracy or area suppression, depending on whether they are targeting a single squad or want to keep a much larger group of soldiers at bay.
What part of the Sherman's ammo switch mechanic is "illogical"? You're loading one of two different types of shell, either HE or APCBC. |

The JP4 is absolutely not a "Glass cannon" regardless of anything else. It has strong armour, and has a 160HP advantage over medium tanks at veterancy. This is an absolutely ludicrous statement to make. |
Now that the Sturmtiger has been nerfed to oblivion can it please 1 shot a t34 again or at least increase its deceleration while firing so it doesn't take so long to shoot, because in its current state its way worse than the AVRE
Oneshots in general are terrible design. Both the AVRE and Sturmtiger being strong is terrible for the game.
As much as I like the Sturmtiger aesthetically/thematically; I much prefer it being a meme vehicle to being the utter menace that It has been in recent patches. |
Afaik that would be impossible. Apparently units can not have a variable pop cost that changes with an upgrade. We tried giving the UKF mortar pit a variable pop cost with 1 vs 2 mortars and it didn't work. I'm not sure if an HQ building could even have a pop cost.
Is it possible to spawn a dummy unit offmap when researching an upgrade, which is then killed automatically if the parent unit/building is killed? |
irl, mines would turn neutral after planting
Ostensibly you know where you planted your own mines, which is what them not blowing up on your own units is meant to represent. |
Let me just mention my profession in real life. I'm an enterprise L3 network engineer and playing using Hikari Plan which gives me 1-2ms 1gbps SLA speed is about 70-80% which gives me DL/UL speed of about 700-800mbps Japan NTT fiber which is connected/routed and optimized directly
to several giant DataCenter/DNS of AWS, Rakuten, Microsoft, Cisco, Cloudflare and ISP/Cloud providers, etc.
make sense?
Are you familiar with PUBG and how that game lost so many players because of server-side issues?
If COH3 is focused only to cater US-EU players then that's fine. If you are fine with that small competition between TOP players, that's fine.
That's why I asked if COH2 is using peer to peer and guys here clarified that it uses a server for Matchmaking.
When I was young I'm competitive in Starcraft, CS, Dota 1, Dota 2, etc. Every advantage you can take counts like latency, framerate, latency of your hardware peripherals counts if you are competing in a tournament.
So it would be great to grow its player base and make it an e-sport and continue developing and patching it for balances. I just love the game it gives me the most realistic RTS but it has too much RNG to become an e-sport. =D
I just want to play it until I'm in 70-80s lol. But too much delay and RNG can kill you early due to high blood pressure.
None of this changes the fact that "The Cloud" isnt a magical button that fixes latency issues, and that you're not going to be able to get very low pings if you're playing in Japan vs someone in western Europe. |
Those links just brought me to serelia homepage. Just letting you know.
God damn it, so they do. Thanks.
Well, those who wish to check the Vickers vs MG42s statistics can feel free to navigate the site themselves, then. I'm not certain if the site can be properly linked to. |
