If a single jeep/bike will make solo snipers scared, then so be it. They should be. I am spending some very fragile 180/220mp JUST to keep a watch on that sniper. A well micro'd sniper can last you the entire game. A jeep/bike is unlikely to survive past early mid (how many times have you seen a vet 3 jeep running around?).
Snipers will need to be supported, or risk an isolated counter. They are inherently a sort of all or nothing unit: I hit you I kill you, you hit me, I'm most likely dead. |
There is no reason whatsoever to buy commanders, unless you want an advantage over your opponent.
We can't argue that commanders give diversity to the game's metagame, because not everyone has X and Y commander, and as such, it is only fully diverse for those willing to spend money on it.

I think Basilone spotted a standard beta bug in his stream today. Not even sure if it can changed, but apparently if you delete a barracks in the process of being built, you don't get your fuel back.

I don't have much trouble discussing history (I love to) but whats the point of this? Its not only heavily biased on both sides, it leads nowhere. If people knew the exact intentions behind WW2 events, they'd be earning an international award and rewriting history books everywhere.

My bad. I thought he meant while moving to dodge the shot. But I still think heroic armor would be too much.
I think the idea of increasing reload/cooldown is a good balance to countersnipes. Giving them more upkeep(I think Tommy raised it already) is a good balance to multiple snipers.

@Esky: Yes, the Soviets at first glance seem to be misrepresented, but in fact, the campaign is not about the Soviet Army. It's about the experiences of ONE man, and his relationship to his commanding officer. They show ONE other commanding officer, the one in the penal battalions, which also happened to be rough.
Its a fictional account, in a fictional universe, not a documentary. It's like being mad at Inglorious Basterds (which, by the way, also has many VERY authentic things, besides the plot).
What if we said then, that it is not the soviets that are misrepresented, but rather: The Germans and the Americans?
The Japanese raped and pillaged. The Soviets raped and pillaged. The Germans raped and pillaged. The Commonwealth raped and pillage. The Americans raped and pillaged.
All of them also had very brave, courageous and respectable men and women.
War is horrible business and the truth of the matter is, heroes usually don't come alive to tell stories. If anything, it is really hard to get stories out of real soldiers because they are reluctant to talk about it with civilians like us.
CoH2 is NOT about the Soviets. Its about one man, caught in a war he doesn't want to fight in. The Soviet winter and push to Berlin are merely the setting for that story.

Anyway, is it possible to give Heroic critical type when getting shot by a sniper? That would mean a sniper would die in 2 shots regardless if his standing still or moving/retreat. Heroic is like elite meaning that sniper never miss, but wait, that doesn't matter, there's a modifier for accuracy.
That wouldn't work I think, because even if they COULD switch armors on the fly like that, giving a sniper heroic armor is only going to make it stronger all around, not more balanced. Its the equivalent of having twice the HP for countersnipe purposes. |
What would be a good idea to modify the 50/50 coin toss? Honestly, I don't think it rewards good positioning, and it promotes getting a second sniper to improve odds. |
How long has it been since you've played if I may ask?
Quite a while, I always make a point of trying out the patches and checking the changes. I just lost itnerest over the game gradually. Flanks are not satisfying and the core has not been addressed enough (for whatever reason). RNG though, is one thing they shouldn't change. |
