Thread: 5 men for OST14 Feb 2020, 15:16 PM Imo the biggest problems of Ost is that they don't have infantry that can decently trade with elite Allied infantry and on to of that being a little bit squishy. For example OKW have obers and having 5 men mainline infantry also helps a bit. Pgrens are quite awkward and only good vs stock infantry and guards in cqc or with psheks (not mentioning infantry AT being rng cannons). I quite like g43 upgrade on them tho. With all being said I think it is the most fun faction in the game. In: Lobby

Thread: COH2 winter balance mod - discussion5 Feb 2020, 06:58 AM I think the Airborne soviet Rocket Strafe needs a small delay or ~20% damage nerf. In 1v1 this ability is extremely cheesy. The Muni increase seems logical, since soviets already have 3 PPSh upgrade for 45 munies (15 muni per gun) and currently you can get 4 PPSh for 40 munies (10 muni per gun) with airborne (typical soviet nepotism in action ). I wish this ability was locked behind 2 CP like the conscript PPSh counterpart (or later ones buffed to 1CP for consistency). In: COH2 Gameplay

The only way to remedy that with their current design would be by raising the upgrade and reinforcement cost allot, which kinda shows they're not the right unit to make this change to. Is 0.61 is the stat with the officer (it gives +5%) or without it? I thought Assgrens had around 0.68. 26 MP reinforcement cost. With STGs it can be increased to 28. Since you get more STGs, the muni price can be increased. Also the timing of an upgrade is important. You get Volk STGs after first battlegroup deployment, while with assgrens you get the upgrade pretty much in late game (as with the officer). In: COH2 Gameplay

That and STG's are already overrepresented in this game. volksgren stgs is like 2 times weaker then the pgren ones and late game pgrens are on the edge of useful, even with their excellent RA (unless you give them shreks or g43s). So I personally don't see an issue here. If the 26mp per model is too low, it is not unprecedented to change MP reinforcement cost after an upgrade (e.g. conscripts). About RA, a lot of 28mp (e.g. guards, paras) units while having higher RA (towards 1.0) also have access from decent (DP LMGs) to great weaponry (thompsons, .30 1919 LMGs). In: COH2 Gameplay

Instead of 6th man upgrade all 5 guys can get 5 volksgren STGs. Seems logic. Assault rifles for assault grenadiers It is quite awkward to use a cqc squad in the late-game without smoke, to be honest. Pretty mediocre for a stock unit, which you tech always. If you watched the finals you would have known that in 4 of 5 games OKW was chosen, in one Noggano rolfstomped Luvnest with cheeky USF strat and the last game... well the last game was extremely short. So in 2/4 games obers were used and in 2/2 where both players went to distance. In: COH2 Gameplay
