the MG34 comes later than the 42, Vickers and Maxim yet is worse than all of them. Doesn't seem right for a tech structure at all.

If you run the game at 4k - don't. I have better setup (r5 1600, 16GB of 3000MHz RAM, GTX 1070) and I run the game and high-ultra 1080p (Vsync off, Physics on medium, Sound quality at medium). At 4k game crashed a lot. 1440p was doable, but the player stats tab was bugged. So I run the game at 1080p. The game is very stable for me.

Is it possible that some underused (in all modes) doctrines will get a rebalance/reshuffle of their abilities? |
This HMG is so bad that as a frequent Soviet player I want it in more doctrines |
The fact that ISU is meta in team games should say something. While it counters AT guns, it counters infantry as well. Same with ele+scope. Just stand near VP watch your flanks and win games. I've seen enough games where units like this single-handedly carried games, not meantioning the diversity of good abilities that doctrines with such assault guns have.
Just take a look at KV-2. The docs which have it are pretty one sided and lack diverse measures. But for some reasons docs with Ele and ISU are op af.
I think either docs, or unit themselves need to be nerfed, or reworked. ISU doctrines needs to let go of bombing strike, maybe AOE tweaked a bit to decrease wiping potential and remove a possibility of scope upgrade on elephant. |
Fully loaded Vickers K gun with full ammo is about 14.5 kg. No way in hell you’re firing that thing while running with any accuracy without training on it for months.
Some stats: 1919 .30cal is 14Kg and MG34 is 12Kg. |
Everyone has to use infantry based AT and ATGs to counter TDs you know. No vehicle in game can just brute force their way frontally, so if you're really keen on using vehicles to counter vehicles that are meant to hardcounter vehicles, you better pull off a good flank.
Also, panzergrens move much faster near vehicles, so they can easily support whatever flank or attack you're making with vehicle.
Well mentioned JP4 can actually fight TDs. It has range, it has camo and it can move while in camo.
My point is that OST lacks reliable TD counter and shrek pgrens does not look like a reliable solution, they actually look like an exact opposite of it.
Maybe its just me, but I wish StugG had higher cost on top of being better. Perhaps even having 5 more range, which is still 5 less then TDs. Maybe even gaining that range with vet. |
120mm is pretty mediocre. It can be decent in team games against mortars, leFHs or pak43s. I guess you can also drop flares further, providing you could vet it up (which I find kind of difficult), otherwise it looks good on paper, but in practice it is very situational and extremely reliant on RNG. Somebody even asked Luvnest about 120mm on one of his streams. He said he did not like it and preferred regular mortar. People need to use it before saying it is strong.
t34-85 should be good, it is a doctrinal tank, although as a medium I prefer OST p4 with panzer tactician. Smoke + bliz in terms of survivability is better then flat 160 hp increase imo.

Default medium and TDs are 640 - 4 shots.
Premium USF mediums are 720 - 4 shots
T34-85 with 800Hp - 4 shots.
LV - 2 shots.
I think giving it higher pen is a better idea.
t-34/85 has a fair shot of 1v1ing a panther, if the panther even misses once, which is always does, even stationary.

Can someone tell me why Stug has to have lower range then any other TD except Panther? Even Jpanzer have same 60 range as other TDs, but not Stug, that clearly lacks JP's armor. I know it has better ROF and lower cost, but still any other TD outranges it, while lacking camo ability, that JP receives with vet.
It brings weird dynamic to Ost, that has to rely on paks to counter TDs, or Panther/P4 rushes (which is often a very high risk endeavor). Paks may work vs brits, or even USF, (to some extend) but Soviets easily counter it with a Katyusha salvo. Not mentioning, that AT gun is quite easy to de-crew and subsequently destroy especially while trying to hunt something that has its own range values. |
