getting these types of awards is probably mutually exclusive with working 12 hour days for a delay, unfortunately. crunch culture really seemed to get crunched the last few years, or at least it seems so at times.
lazy woke culture partly caused the inefficiency with coh3 dev, too many missing basic features with so many staffers, discussing too much on diversity and representation i betcha!

Campaigns are fine.
MP is dead, tho might be a bit alife right now.
No MP, no time sink because campaigns are boring for old gamer.
It seems the firings are against people whose responsibilities got flamed, from gameplay, to art, to animations, to sound, to biggest head of coh3 development Litman

Is iron harvest a good time sink? I need a backup when coh3 folds in 6 months. As lonely old gamer manning my boring shop, i go back home to play coh2 regularly. It helps to sharpen my mind and dexterity, but i see an end of an era. I am loss which time sink to switch over?

David Litman was the face of coh3. I remember he said he wanted to do a 1-3/4 or something with coh3, 3 quarters of the game being familiar and 1 quarter being new. He do need to be accountable for coh3 poor plannng

I preached this all week 1 of the game launching. COH3 literally has half the player base of COH2. Voidtrain comes out today!!.
I’ve tried to COHPE. In reality. All good things eventually must end. I don’t see how Relic can turn the player base around even with another patch. Considering the last patch did nothing to retain players.
I still blame the COH1 clowns. The game feels off. The “tactical” “strategy” feels washed. Insane amount of punishment removed from the game. Also just skill influenced mechanics that made the game interesting/fun. Big wipes, grenades on retreat. Crush/light vehicle pushing. Punishing players for over extending and being greedy.
Since my twitch ban. I have played 1s and they are decent. But team games is the life of COH and team games in COH3 are 1000 times worse than COH2. I’ve said it on stream before. But in all the COH3 games I’ve played. I have not had any EPIC moments similar to what COH2 can give me. The twinkle in my eye during a big engagement in COH2 has not been replicated in COH3.
But yea all your points are valid. The amount of time required to fix this game outweighs the patience of the community. Indicators being the less than 3000 player base that’s continuously dropping. But GLHF!!!
coh3 just felt distanced in 2v2. In the beta, i did not like the auto reinforce auto vaulting forward recrewing. I believe such mechanics takes away too much of user attention.
relic removed crush, vehicle pushing. retreat wipes seem inconsistent, somedays 8rad or sherman can wipe easily.
lastly did you know you cannot repair base structures? ukf or usf can spam their arty units early on, and you cannot even get a tank to take them down.

I am a stressed 1v1 player, so i played the other 3 modes much more. All random games.
The games are admittedly fun in a balanced matchup, going past 30 mins late game.
But coming from Coh2, Coh3 still feels detached to me, like an out of body experience with my army. Something is off.
I think all that auto forward reinforcing and healing even for tanks! I not feeling it. When i get vet3 grens in Coh2, it felt great and grens felt powerful.
With Coh3, vet3 felt nothing much.
Some more the current meta with the buff MG, is to camp your front line, stop infantry with MG spam, push a mortar leig unit asap. Then fisticuff on the frontline until who got the tanks mass faster. And too much arty, every gets arty. Brits get it much earlier. Wtf man |
the thing is, nobody or no majority asked for a faster tick rates.
4s is perfectly tried and tested and everyone enjoys the late game carnage. the back and forth, the downtime and breathing space.
so why cut to 3s now? who asked for it?
considering coh3 seems more heavy into vehicles, i can get 3 p4 easily. cutting down the play time seems wrong.
tanks move faster, we can transport troops now, and forward auto reinforcing.... i hope coh3 do not become like dow3 where everything just happens and concludes... |
It is constant. It's consistently faster than CoH 2 because the score updates every 3 seconds instead of every 4 seconds whether you have 1, 2, or 3 VPs.

Marco also said that it can easily be changed back to 4 secinds with the way they coded it.

i want it constant like coh2, it makes more gamesense. should not have different drain rates...you dont see sports matches tick down faster if you scored more goals....
