I was against random crits too, i tried to portrait some crits to figure the idea out. But when implemented, there should be specific crits inflicted upon hits, as i said in the OP, targeted abilities that cause thread or main gun damage |
Would be fair with more pen then.
Edit: I also think that Jackson should get less pen, HEAT should become non-vet so it gets any sence.
I would take it the other way around if you ask me.
Increase Pen, decrease rate of fire.
Better performance against heavies, even at Vet0, worse against mediums and Pumas |
Can you show me an example of one of these Jackson threads where a horde of US fanboys ruined it? And if their fanboys who cares what they say? You're not giving the mod team enough credit if you think their decisions are effected by the nonsense coming from Codguy's keyboard...
First of all, dont start a flame war if you are not going to handle it afterwards. CODGUYS is the worst example your could pick. Your post are beyond flame to other users aswell, sit back and relax or just leave the forums for better.
You are free to read all the previous threads about M36, im not here to babysit anyone.
One thing is certain, M36 dominating tank to tank wars is above comfortable, just some micro to keep it at range and thats it. This kind of "retoric" discussions of panthers vs jacksons vs heavies vs TDs are just the way this so called fanboys disrupts threads. Again you are welcome to start your own reading and realize it for yourself.
I woulnt summon the dev team into this discussion unless you have solid proof that "their desitions are affected", they respond to the game design, and then the community feedback, not the other way around. |
but changing it requires a lot of brainstorming
Actually it does not, but everytime a thread discusses about ""Nerfin"" the M36 a whole army of fanboys defend it because it carries their games.
I would rather not rephrase myself, but i once said: "If a faction relies too much on a single unit, it is a clear sign of OP" - Use it as you will, namely volks, T70, Falls, M36, IS, Eleph
I assume my mistake on saying that a puma is 2 shoted by M36, i have not taken account the HVAP bonus damage and also as widerstrait said, with USF having multiple anti light options that extra single shot damage is often non existent.

What about making jackson sight dependent on movement?
I mean, its like a passive spottig scopes, but current sight is only when stationary and on the move is half of it, for example.
Jackson will no longer chase reliably, but can defend |
Cost is a big factor, for one.
Puma 370MP 70FU.
Jackson 400MP 145FU
I don't believe a vehicle that's literally half the cost, should be able to counter.
Its not LITERALLY HALF THE COST, you know? First. (30MP - 75FU)
Second, Pumas are not (nearly) as reliable as jackons, nor durable, nor accurate.
if we're re scaling costs/Performance, it wouldn't be a bad thing, i guess.
scaling cost/performance only favours your point of jackson costing more fuel (wich is dirt cheap for what it does) and if we were to consider this logic, all axis tank should OUTPERFORM VASTLY any allied tank. |
If there was some counterplay, for instance if snares always dealt engine crits and if armour was lower to allow Puma to fight it off, then the Jackson would be in a much better spot.
Agreed, but i would also implement some buffs for pumas, like turret rotation speed and decreased target size.
I really like the 1 snare TDs idea |
How would you see it implemented? I mean, the Puma does a decent job at providing a check for the Jackson, meaning you will get punished if you over extend, especially if its vet 1?
2 pumas are equal or more costly than a jackson and you know you will loose one at the expense of not getting the jackson.
A puma checking a m36 is like a stug checking a IS2, its unlikely but posible |
Currently Jacksons are a beat-all-of-the-kind tank, it destroys lights because they are 2 shoted, they obliterate mediums because they are more reliable on the move than those and finally but not least, beat the crap out of heavies because their superior range and penetration bonuses.
Damn they are the best FU investment to deny all other FU from axis.
Pair that with a solid lategame infantry and you got 2 out of 3 main army components (infantry-armor-indirect fire), from that its a simple linear fight and steamroll over.
I admit that lategame is for allies, but unless axis spams ATGs and HMGs they are simply rolled over, generally speaking |
Idk why you're talking about t34 speed? There's a reason AT guns have 60 range and tanks have 35
Why the game includes snares? Did you ever notice that tanks are faster than footmen? Imagine a big F cannon (namely ATG) traversed by raw manpower? Do you understand that mobility is another aspect of units and is as important as every other one? Did you ever read a M36 vs panther thread? Do you know why they are not nerfed? Because they are both fast, that gives them their advantage.
Now aswer kindly to me, is T34 a slow tank like a KV1 or is it fast like a T70...
The answer will lead you to my point and why a T34 can pen the back of a brumbarr... |
