That's interesting info. I swapped my key settings like 200h hours ago to the other ingame configuration so my A-move is now Q-move and I press W to stop instead of S.
I find it so frustrating now that when I have both ATG or vehicle + a squad of infantry selected, if I try to retrat I will just end up reversing and my infantry won't retreat because both reverse and retreat are under R... This is especially annoying when your infantry is on top of your ATG and box selecting your inf may well select ATG and hitting the tag above the squad is also fairly annoying as it tends to teleport to another model once the tag-carrying model dies.
With this config at least I don't have to have 10" wide hand to Merge my conscripts, Build or do other things that are far to the right side of keyboard. I slapped 0num to my mouse side button but hardly use it even though I want to use the tac map, it helps with unit preservation.

Ram + off map needs to go. Considering off maps are largely fine on their own the balance team really needs to look into ram. Losing heavy tanks to two clicks of a button is retarded and there is nothing that can be done about it. And no you can't reliably keep your tanks from being rammed even though rank 1000 Allied mains think so.
There actually is a pretty underused ability in OST doctrine with 110MU JU87 strafe. It is basically the same as the IL2 rocket strafe but you can use your pak40 vet1 ability to stun instead of sacrificing your medium tank for ramming. Nobody really uses it to cheese vs allied heavies because of ATG, Panthers, Tigers, JT and Elefant doing their job, but it is there and is no weaker combo than ram+IL2.
If ram+IL2 combo is nerfed, then the game will turn into heavy tank/Elefant meta even more than it is now, with possibly allies swapping to Brits even more as tulips are actually very good against heavies and super heavies while churchills or comets can actually absorb and deal damage respectively.

Reduce its HP from 960 to 800, max speed from 6.6 to 6.4, increase far penetration from 220 to 230, range from 50 to 55, and move the 1s wind-down to reload time so it can be decreased with veterancy*.
*((5.2-5.6)+1) to (6.2-6.6), vet 3: ((3.64-3.92)+1) to (4.34-4.62)
While I agree that the range difference between allied TDs and Panthers could be lowered to 5 with Panther health down to 800, I don't think Panthers should have 15 range advantage over Mediums that already get stomped by Panther. This idea is on the right track but I would like to see other changes follow it, which would increase the scope and possibly never make it due to potential balance consequences (like a) all mediums get 45 range and then ATG get 65 range... or b) Panther range remain 50, all TDs except Stug go down to 55, Stug gets cost increase to 100FU, Puma range drops to 45). Either way changing Panther just a little won't fix much by itself and will potentially amplify other issues |
I don't think many users of this forum play single player missions. For example I don't even know what ToW stands for... I admire your dedication to this game though. |
I am pretty sure the strafe in advanced warfare was meant to suck because the rest of the abilities in the commander are really good.
I can see how this doctrine could be picked in 1v1, but in 2v2+ it's rly bad. |

That's silly, why would you remove doctrinal inf and add a stock teamwapon? I'd rather see it the other way around, but then there would be some overlap with airborne. |
Hi guys, propose 1 ability swap to make commanders usable. I don't mean to slap a Tiger to every commander and I don't mean to change commanders that are already good, but the trash ones. These are easy changes that could give the game more variety. Let me start.
SOV Commander - Advanced Warfare, remove useless 90MU IL2 strafe and replace with literally anything else, be it Incendiary barrage, AT gun camo, Recon Plane, Mark vehicle, just avoid overlap or another useless ability.
As you can see none of what I suggested is over the top or useless, please, follow the same logic.
