It deals more damage than the Garand per shot... I have a Garand too, but not a Carbine! Love that rifle. I’ve got one of each of the mainline rifles from the war, and it’s silly how much better the M1 Garand is compared to everything else. Better sights, faster loading and eight shots instead of five and I haven’t even mentioned that it’s semi automatic yet! My M1 carbine is a fine shooter too, I highly recommend getting one if you can. Original USGI ones can be expensive but a the IMI carbines made in the 90’s are a great facsimile. Mines a 1943 production National Post Meter but I got it cheap because it had a scope mounted on the side which had to have the holes filled back in, so it’s not a perfect collector example, but it shoots great and I was able to hide the damage under a new stock. Thread: Buff old Osttruppen Commander12 Jun 2019, 17:12 PM Yeahhhhhh, Ostruppen themselves are fine. I’d like to see their upgrade changed to be a captured LMG, and maybe even have that upgrade come at battle phase 2 instead of 3. I’d also quite like to see them able to build sandbags by default. So a slight buff to the commander by adding a different commander ability to the doctrine in exchange for making sandbags a default ability would be a good change in my opinion. In: COH2 Balance

Would you suggest putting the Rigel mines on the IR Halftrack or put them on the proposed 250 halftrack replacement? I can see it working both ways. The goal is to make the upgrade more diverse from the already established G43 and LMG42 upgrades so you can choose from long range stationary firepower, mid range moving firepower or survivability buffs that help at all ranges. The VSL could be armed with string cheese and it would still help the squad at all ranges with just the received accuracy and extra model of health. In: COH2 Gameplay

I can't see you know the real differences. Edit: I am bored to make videos after video only so show simple diffrences. The abilities serve similar but different purposes. The Wehrmacht Mortar HT flame round is a way to force an AT gun or MG to reposition. You can fire the one flame round and then pull your mortar halftrack back to protect it and still force the enemy to relocate. It’s not a straight up killing ability, it’s a shoot and move utility ability that allows your mortar HT to reposition faster but still force enemy team weapons to move. The USF WP rounds serve a slightly different role. They are intended to do big damage to an enemy team weapon so that other units can wipe them out in conjunction. Both can use their abilities to deny an area to enemy units, such as a VP or resource point capture circle you are defending. Are the abilities equal? No, but they serve the same utility in different ways. They don’t have to be 1:1 equal in order to be balanced. This is why I suggest a slight cost reduction to the Wehrmacht mortar halftrack. Play versus your team and you will see. ;D Both units suffer from the same problems inherit to the unit design. They have the same strengths and weaknesses. If the USF version is better than the Wehrmacht version, which it very well may be, then the solution is to reduce the cost of the Wehrmacht unit, probably a reduction by 20-40 manpower and 10-15 fuel would be enough. Don’t belittle me by calling me an “Allii fanboy”. Name calling is childish and does not contribute to positive discussion. And yes, I do play Wehrmacht, but I’m admittedly not a huge fan of OKW. Thread: USF Mortar Halftrack & M1 Pack Howitzer Need Nerf12 Jun 2019, 13:42 PM USF mortar halftrack has relatively short range, low HP and is locked to a doctrine. If your opponent builds several of them he has left himself vulnerable to tanks, especially StuGs which can very cost effectively poke in as a pair and knock out a mortar halftrack. Spamming munition abilities will also limit his ability to equip his units with LMGs allowing you to win the infantry fight as long as you keep moving. So go lightning war and get G43s, stay mobile and get a pair of StuGs. Also get some Panzergrenadiers to supplement your AT with panzershrecks so you can stay mobile and back up your StuGs while you stall for the Tiger. A highly mobile force of G43 Grenadiers, Panzershreck teams, 2 StuGs and a Tiger will handily defeat any strategy that over uses mortar halftracks. In: COH2 Balance

Awwwww, c’mon! Ok, FG-42s are cool, but they’re rarer than unicorns even in the Fallschirmjager units they were deployed in. Seriously, they only made about 7,000 of them. In realistic terms of equipment of units, that’s basically zero. Which is why I liked the CoH 1 version of Fallschirmjager where they spawned with one StG44 and 3 K98s and then could be upgraded to have 4 FG-42s. Dear Relic, please pay attention to production figures and tables of organization and equipment when you make CoH3. The games are great and fun, but a realistic representation of history is important else you risk being as bad as the “distorian” version of WWII that is CoD:WWII multiplayer and Battlefield V. Thread: Dual Role SU-7611 Jun 2019, 23:31 PM Sounds like we yet again have a cost to performance problem again. Problem: Zis-3 and SU-76 barrages are not good enough to justify their cost. Solution: Reduce the cost of barrage ability. Making it cost 25 munitions on both units sounds like a viable solution to me. In: COH2 Balance

Additionally, one Thompson per USF Captain and Lieutenant isn’t useless just because it’s the only SMG in the squad. A single MP40 would give the Grenadier squad firepower up close to repel an enemy assault as long as the 4 K98s in the squad can reduce the attackers as they close. So no, for many reasons an MP40 wouldn’t be useless, it just wouldn’t be a powerhouse assault unit. And since weapon stats are easily modified, for this implementation an MP40 or StG44 could have the EXACT SAME stats. So the choice between them is mostly a question of which you prefer aesthetically or historically. In: COH2 Gameplay
