You lose the position!!! Almost the same huh and a op ability huh? When you retreat you loose the position to. But if lucky you dont even need to reinforce only heal and its back on the field. When wiped you loose a team weapon. meaning you need to spend a lot more mp to replace, the enemy might take it, or you need to make a big effort to recrew it. So how that is almost the same is just wrong. And the barrage being an op ability is not true imo. But aparantly soviets are not allowed to force the enemy off or to make them move their team weapons. Not even a small chance to wipe if rng is willing. In: COH2 Balance

This is true. A garanteed retreat is something esle then a garateed wipe. Certain people claim is near or a garanteed wipe on hit at max range even. Even against 4 men it rarely wipes esp with the first shot. In: COH2 Balance

The why bother with this repley? Field gun barrage is unique to soviets. No nades stock is also unique to soviets. People make it out to be a absolute wipe ability wich it is absolutly not. Thread: Zis Barrage need longer cooldown26 Oct 2020, 12:18 PM Jump back to quoted post26 Oct 2020, 10:28 AMullumulu u miss something. to get a a huge range wiper and at gun, sov need only one unit. ost/ OKW need for the same thing 2 units, which is way more expansive. technically sov has even a manpower advantage over ost or OKW. The barrage is not a garanteed wiping ability, esp at long range. It does so on rare occasions on units who are already low on hp or unlucky to move into the follow up shells. Grenades are far more consistant in wiping, but dont have the range. Nothing wrong with either. When the zis is firing arty its not firing at tanks, a weakness of multyrole units. An extra moment you can catch it of guard. Its at has been buffed buts its still not as good as other atguns in raw at power. In: COH2 Balance

The ost mortar is only 240 mp. Shoots over shot blockers easier. can retreat. Why compare the 2? Zis barrage is fine. Usualy a player only gets 2. Thats 2 to 4 less then mainline/elite combis that all throw nades. The things soviets lack obviously outside the zis/su76 barrages. In: COH2 Balance

In ost vs Soviet you can keep a 3 men recrew on the field and retreat the lone soldier if you are Ost. As Soviets you have to retreat both squafs because a 3 man crew is just rifle grenade bait (until you get the 7 man upgrade). Yeah thats why i love the 7th man. It boosts the intended role for conscripts next to snaring. Recrewing/merging and having actual staying power. In: COH2 Balance

Lead to early defeat. I prefer to have mainline infantry snare removed in the next game (or may be they're just a soft counter to vehicle for mainline infantry). Only mines should cause engine damage to vehicles (West armies used to be rare in snare play). We can still adjust snaring in this game if there will be another patch. The snare threshhold could be put at lower health then now. I qould welcome that chance, its worth testing imo. In: COH2 Balance
