Had a game last night where my AA HT shot down the recon plane but bombs landed (outside of circle) anyway. Guess the half second window was enough to acquire target. My TDs only survived because I kept backing them up (still got gibbed for most their HP tho).
Dunno, seems like the real issue is that you have no way of being safe because the plane that drops the bombs just can't be shot out, and even if you shoot the recon plane, it may have still already gotten the target. |
NVM, no longer relevant since it got fixed/changed.
|
The scatter, if nerfed, will at least mean you won't get TKO'd as you retreat to base. Or make the bombing run slower so AA has a real chance to shoot it down.
Though I still favor my idea to turn the bombs into an area-targeted ability and not a squad-targeting one. |
I'm only going to raise issue with the top 10 nonsense. A ton of people play this game and are in the middle area (ranks 50-300) and their opinions matter because they make up the bulk of the playerbase. Active people who spend half a dozen hours a week, but don't live CoH2 for hours every day. I spend about 2 hours a day playing CoH2, I love it, but I'm never going to be great because I can't afford to spend the time necessary for practicing every faction. Furthermore, I don't want to be a great player, I want to have _Fun_ and has El Chino points out, it's not about perfect balance but about fairness.
You think if every non 1v1 pro disappeared, any of the tournaments or level of support for this game would be possible? You think Sega would ahve dumped 20,000 dollars on a game with a total of 100 people playing online? No. I don't play 1v1 at a competitive level, but I do watch and support the tourneys and events, and if people like me have their opinions disregarded then we'll eventually stop playing and the playerbase, AKA the lifeblood of this game, will shrink even more than it has.
You can weigh a person's opinion with their biases and their experience, that's fine, but to say that a 4v4 player has no right to talk about game balance is absolute nonsense -- especially when the majority of the complaints line up with the 1v1 "pros". |
I disagree. The game doesn't work it's own way in this point. The in-game HMG description says "requires proper positioning. effective at dealing with massed infantry". Massed infantry = blobs, right?
So ANY HMG should be able to deal with blob. If i need 2-3 maxims to stop OKW blob, i'd say it's not effective. And the numbers show that MG42 at least 2 timer more suppressing than maxim.
Maxim may have more DPS, larger squad, faster set-up and pack-up time, but it is ineffective at dealing with massed infantry.
I think that's fair, my point about not wanting the game to change was more aimed at the attitude of "I am upset, I demand my emotions be validated".
Maxim definitely doesn't deal with blobs, unless you're blobbing maxims (enter maximum maxim joke here) but that just leads to what I think is a boring playstyle -- and not an effective one in team games, which is mostly what I play. |
I saw something like that, in my previous posts where I mentioned fuel caches can be targeted -- some of the bombs killed units from the guy who used it on me. Not sure if any wipes, but was kinda LOL. It's so OP that the power cannot be contained even by those who wish to use it. |
No. Man its stuff like this that makes me wanna stop posting here, I specifically tried NOT to ****ing say that Sturms were OP. I just don't like them as a starting unit. RE performane is fine, sturm performance is fine (based on their cost). All I don't understand is why 3 factions get a 170mp, 200mp, and 210mp starter, and one that has the ability to connect territory with a vehicle gets a 300mp assault unit.
My point was clearly much more specific than "sturm OP plz nerf". This place gives me a ****ing migraine
I feel your pain man =( |
The g43 is just a normal gun with weird accuracy values and will crit if the model is below 75% hp.
The accuracy is about 60% at close range but 115% accuracy at max range. With the +50% accuracy ambush it gets as much as a 60-70% chance to snipe retreating models at max range.
Thanks for the info -- so I guess shocks are an ideal counter to them.
And since they have no snare...
...shocks... m3.... oh dear. |
The squad got reduced to 2 models, but I suppose that yes it does need RNG to target the model with sub 75% HP, unless that's done automatically.
I'm not sure if it gets the sniping effect on the move or if it has to be standing still. |
I don't think running through a molotov + HMG fire and getting shot for 3 seconds from behind before you get into cover to then fight cons at close range is typical use of JLI.
No offense to Tobis. |
