I feel there is too little sherman types available stock, there are 5 variations available? but 80% is doctrinal. This sexy tank needs more representation ingame.
There are:
-M4 standard
-M4 bulldozer 105
-M4 standard bulldozer + WP
-M4A3(76)
-M4A3E8 (easy eight)
Is there a way to implement more as stock, what if there was an option like for UKF to get either bofors or AEC.
An idea might be to have 1 extra type of sherman that needs ''unlocking'' to access stock, though i feel getting M4A3E8 and M4 105 bulldozer stock might be a tad overkill.
So a choice between M4 standard bulldozer + WP OR M4A3(76), you pick one to unlock, and lock out the other like the UKF does with their bofors OR AEC.
both of these tanks, if became stock, would have to be buffed/nerfed accordingly

We use to call this faction: UKF
indeed. UKF get all the noice stuff from all other factions...mostly even in better version.

Other rocket arty also aren't doctrinal, arrive much sooner and cost almost 50% less.
there is a reason why USF has no nondoc rocket launcher, called:
- great and multiple cheap offmaps
- Scott
- Pak howie
- faction design and differences between them
this doc unit nullify a weakspot from USF, without taken the advantages.

Cost to fire flares:
PM-41 30 MU
HM-38 30 MU
Panzer fusiliers 35 MU
Riflemen 35 MU
Sniper 40 MU
SdKfz 251 60 MU
In addition it seem the duration of the SdKfz flare to be sorter than other flares (not sure).
Finally HT can fire the flare only when in camo.
My suggestions would be to:
Lower cost of snipe flare to 35 MU
Lower cost SdKfz 251 flare to 30 MU(maybe even lower)
Allow it fire even when not cloaked
Increase duration if needed
sov mortar flares are so strong in teamgames, when you spam them. its like your enemy has no chance to hide anythink at and behind front for all the time.

you miss the relative cost to performance.
A tiger is much more expansive than a KV1. KV1 is for its cost to durable. All agree here to this fact.
A jackson cost the half of a Jagtiger, but is muuuuuch faster, has turret, has selfrepair and muuuuuch more mobilty. When you are to lazy to use HVAP shells from Jackson to penetrate a Jagdtiger very often...its a learn2play issue.

KW1 is bit of a joke. It should have a lot of HP to fullfill its tanky role, but its armor is way too high. This should be decreased.
You also have to mention its Vet1 ability to dig in, which doesn't even needs any infantry unit to do so (in contrast to OST Hull Down ability).
=> So, lower its armor, increase its HP to 880. Then it can sustain 1 more shot and KW1 should be fine.
even its rear armor should be decreased.

/moved to the gameplay section since as OP states, this is more of a rant than focussed balance discussion atm.
To topic:
OST has not really a unit to very reliably deal with heavy armor except of course the Elefant. That's why Comets and Churchills are/were super popular as well. KV1 has 270 armor, Panther has 220 far and 240 mid penetration, PaK40 190/200. So Panther is the only unit that can somewhat reliably deal with the KV1's frontal armor, while the PaK is also a good choice because of its range. The KV1 is slow as fuck and you will get a lot of shots off while the KV1 enters and leaves the cone at snail speed. Especially when you can stun him. Another plus for the PaK is the KV1-SU85 combo. While your Panther will get shot and penned by the SU85 when attacking the KV1, the PaK stays basically untouchable.
My favourite though is the OKW P4 vs KV1 matchup. None of these tanks have a real chance to kill each other and the fight goes on forever.

I believe KV can bounce only at long range, and with a bit of luck at med range. But on the other note, Tiger penetration is worst that one of a Panther not my much but still. If you need heavy AT tank, Tiger isn't really best deal.
so...ost will need a Pak43? even a pak40 bounce regularly on the kv series. stug is bad and only panther has better chance, but will miss more.
kv1 with it dmg reduction bonus has a very good survival chance to come back, when over extent. |
