Just feels like a big scam to me because red units op It's comeback mechanics. The idea is to smooth out snowballing, keeping the game in doubt until the last minute. Surely, at least it needs to be replaced with a comparable unit or ability. Hardly. The AEC is a light vehicle, with the low penetration and health that implies. You don't build them past the midgame. The Firefly is a 140ish fuel, slow-firing, slow-turning, brittle long range sniper tank. The M10 is a fast, 90 FU anti-tank brawler that's deliberately tuned up statwise so it can compete with the Jackson. Sure, if you like laney atrrition-based teamgames then a tank based around speed and flanking isn't going to impress you much. But in 1v1, this thing's great. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Confusion about different SHERMAN tanks of USF24 Aug 2020, 21:10 PM The M4A3 Sherman is the stock variant, and has toggleable High Explosive shells that don't penetrate tanks but are extra effective against infantry. The M4A3(76) Sherman in Mechanized swaps those High Explosive shells out for HEAT shells, which are extra effective against tanks. The Sherman Easy Eight has more health, better armour, and an all-rounder gun that's good against everything but not as effective as the specialised shells the other two get. M4A3 Sherman bullets will affect the stock Sherman, Easy Eight bulletins will affect the Easy Eight. As far as I know, there aren't any bulletins for the M4A3(76). In: COH2 Gameplay

You know the enemy is going to build some armour and it doesn't matter if it's a Puma, a p4 and Panther or a tiger you are going to use the same tool and it will not be bought in vain. With the exception of the Jackson, it'll be inefficient against a P4 and, unlike the competing medium, will contribute no manpower bleed. In: COH2 Balance

A medium counter and a heavy counter are cumbersome. That's why the added utility for the su76 so that once you need to transition into heavy AT the unit retains some battlefield value. Additionally, if it was more or less a zis on tracks combined with a mortar it would synergize well with t1 that lacks both of those things. Utility to provide the scaling that raw firepower makes OP is the key I believe. No, that's the problem. The 'transition to heavy AT' just doesn't work. These units are too expensive and too specialised to afford being rendered redundant like that. You just go straight for that heavy AT. To make light TDs work they need a huge mobility advantage over anti-tank guns, and an equally huge tech barrier between them and the proper tank destroyer. The SU-76 has neither. In: COH2 Balance

Engine limitations however devolved it to a run for your life kinda thing. As for allied tanks, they focus on utility. Not necessarily expendablity. Both western tanks get smoke, Sherman gets blob bonuses. The t34 does have ram, but that's a big picture ability. I wonder if you could rework Blitz to target an area of ground, and the tank'll make a really fast beeline to that location (like Ram)? You wouldn't be able to use that to retreat, because the tank would insist on turning around. In: COH2 Balance
