As an upgrade sounds too controversial, unless it is dirt cheap (40 muni or so) since you already pay each time you use it. Maybe turning smoke into a expensive upgrade (100 muni) and making it free will reduce its "spammability" at least on every single OST armour. LVs would never use it tho If it was an upgrade I'd have it cheap, like 25-30mu cheap and maybe knock 5-10 off per use but I personally prefer the slight delay and front firing. Maybe still knock a smidge off its price if we go that road too. In: COH2 Balance

Maybe even tied to the 7th man upgrade so it doesn't screw with existing abilities that DO perform well (ppsh and ptrs) a cooldown bonus or ROF bonus or something that increases their output slightly. Or at the absolute least made an upgrade primarily so there is some premedetation involved. In: COH2 Balance

Its worse vs tanks and infantry than panther while costing the same. Last round of nerfs was to make it not batshit OP because back then it was better than panther in everything (guys behind balance going from extreme to extreme here). Its not a t34/85, its a panther. I dont know how blinded you have to be to not see that. Same cost and being placed behind 50 fuel upgrade (similar to ostheer) is very clear sign. White phosphorus, crew grenade, hammer tracking, no vet blitz and normal smoke are all contributing factors to the units cost, not just it's combat performance. So yes, the panther does its jobs better for the same cost, but the comet can do more. The panther is SUPPOSED to be better than the comet, as seen by the nerfs the comet received so it wouldn't beat the panther 1/2 of the times. The comet beats p4s and stugs and anything below the panther handily, and for everything above there is the firefly. The comet isn't supposed to replace all your other armour, the old comet could. That's bad design. Does it need some love? Yea. But should it be single handedly smash all of Germany? No. In: COH2 Balance

Could mess around with a damage reduction when in your own base (would hopefully help with flame cars too) but disallowing a unit that costs fuel and is taking up population from firing into the base is an awful direction In: COH2 Balance

The firefly is tuned for heavy armour and high health pools but suffers at the hands of mediums due to its speed. The comet kicks medium ass. It's last round of nerfs was to make it so it WASN'T a panther analog and instead its own thing. Revisited vet would be a good place to start. It's not a panther it's a t34/85 OP has the right idea though. In: COH2 Balance

If you want to spam them wait until they become beefy volks. Then apply all the same "strategy" but with harder hitting and harder to hit squads. In: COH2 Balance
