Thread: Poll - Buff unviable commander abilities16 Apr 2019, 19:21 PM Jump back to quoted post16 Apr 2019, 19:03 PMPARROT Don't think Ive ever managed to make much use of Relief Ostruppen because I always try to preserve squads; particularly at 6CP its hoped they all have decent vet. For my two-penneth, call-in Ostruppen reserves would be much more useful. You don't have to lose the squad, just the models. It's niche but it's pretty handy if the enemy is arty happy since it gives you infantry that can hopefully survive without a wipe but also cheap crews for your weapon teams. I certainly like the idea of the ability but it's a bit pricey. Could try halving the cost and only grant max 1 squad to make it more accessible. In: COH2 Balance

I can't think of one that is used less. I go double Sturms some games more than I've ever thought about making a Pgren. They always end in disappointment, a costly squad that is fiinicky to use, and if you upgrade to shrecks they'll just get crushed and focused so hard it makes you regret that decision. Which is why I had suggested the damage reduction as it helps where they are slightly underwhelming, but the changes in the mod look promising. In: COH2 Balance

JLI had to upgrade when they could infiltrate. Stormtroops need to buy an assault package. Infiltration Commandos now have a grenade cooldown timer and next to no men. Glider commandos do three loops of the map in a huge glider with associated minimap icon and need a huge landing strip. Paratroopers need to buy a weapon upgrade. (Patrisans suck so hard they've never been touched.) They're also an outlier because they're elite infantry with long range firepower that has no MU requirement. Paras, Obers, Guards - they all have their MU cost. But as I said before, it's not a high priority thing to address. They're fantastic infantry but the commander's still off meta and other things need much more urgent fixes in the OKW lineup alone. Falls come in as a package because they are squishy as hell. Paras are designed to be able to recrew their air dropped weapons and can reinforce at a beacon making their map control very dominant because they never bloody leave it. Falls are as glassy and as cannoney as it gets. Despite being multiple airborne type units all of them are unique. Due to the air drop there is plenty of warning now.it was problematic when they were infiltration units but they are no longer. In: COH2 Balance

Not sure where that design decision came in but it feels very biased. Engine limitations. All allied snares are thrown, the faust is shot directly at the target. No line of sight not firey. I belive this is why the Faust fails to shoot sometimes or clips buildings. Not malicious simply an unfixable oversight. In: COH2 Balance

Not sure about that, any weaker and it denies it its aura and coolness too. I think both Soviets and Brits have reasonable counters, and I think US is meant to struggle in the late game by design. Jackson hardly struggles. It's probably the best of the allied TDs due to its fast turret and mobility In: COH2 Balance
