The problem is not that grens face supirior late game allied inf. The problem is the difference in preformance level.
Yes sections and rifles cost more. Their upgrades cost more. But somehow volks wich require very little recources in comparison can stand up to them, and offer utility at near conscript level. while having obers and sturms in main tech. And grens are left in the dust.
Nerf volks (just remove the bloody stg) then nerf rifles sections and penals. Buff obers bye making them come earlier. but dont make or have grens be able to go 5 men. If you do it will be a planetary anihalation faction system. 1 faction for all. Right now axis just wat stuff allies have without giving anything in return.

Grens themselves are fine, its just certain allied squads should not be able to dual equip then that alone will level the playing field. If you utilise support weps effectively with ur grens u should be able to handle the opponent better in the early game.
And regarding changes to the stug, maybe it should now be tested with 60 range. its already had its health, armour, pen and ability nerfed to sh*t |

True, true, its deflection damage that is 80. Fausts still have 40 more penetration.
Shreck is alpha strike weapon.
PTRS is chip damage weapon.
Blobbing them is extremely different in efficiency.
Think of attacking gren squad with 4 snipers vs 4 con squads. What is going to give grens more chance to react and retreat and why? Well, that's the difference between PTRS and shrecks and this is why PTRS is a non issue here.
In fact, PTRS blobs are non issue ever since their AI accuracy for non guard PTRS was gutted and they stopped destroying team weapons.
If shrecks will do 40 damage with low penetration and 3-4 sec reload, you'll find no one complaining about them, hell you can even have AT nades as well.
So no, no hypocrisy here, just wehraboo who doesn't understand how AT weapons work and why alpha strike is scary while chip damage is not.
and dont forget penals ability to snare, if Panzerfusiliers get an at rifle your okay with them retaining snares? |
Although i dislike handheld AT on all factions, i find it hypocritical people talking about pfussies shreks blobs in team games when every damn soviet playing is spamming penals + penals(ptrs) every damn game. Same crap with usf bazookas and piats on ukf
But if factions can upgrade hand held AT on a reliable platform(no not fukin panzergrenadiers and sturms) then OKW + OST should get them too. |
OK time to completely re-do panzer grendiers imo, and make them a true specialist in anti-tank.
Panzer Grenadiers 2019
A dedicated tank hunting squad from the get go, able to only survive against infantry but very adept at tank busting.
New cost: 280mp
Main weapon load out: 1 x stg44, 2 x kar98, 1 x panzerschreck (1.2x damage and pen of normal schreck).
Moving speed: 0.8x that of normal squad (to stop blobs marauding in team games, and to simulate size of panzershrecks.
Abilities:
riegel mine - to cripple tanks and then allow schreck to finish them off.
tank awareness - see tanks moving in fog of war for a limited time, has to stay stationary.
veteran ability - 20mu smoke grenade: to allow them to narrow gaps and survive suppression vs. anti-infantry tanks

Comparing the FF to su85's and jacksons is just so flawed. SU85 is far more venerable then a FF and jackson in the state that its in is because their isn't much options for USF in the late game. You have to also look at the faction it comes in. UKF have access to cromwells, comets, centaur, Churchill and the FF is best used in combination with the Churchill.
FF job is to counter axis heavies and it does that job perfectly well. You cant compare individual units in a vacuum and ignore everything else |
