No one is blindly comparing anything, and you don't need to be a CQC squad to force off an MG. If rear echelon flank an MG42 it needs to retreat...
What's being compared are units that have the same job. Suppress infantry before they advance any further. The one that is the best at this is cheaper than ones that aren't as good and have costs just to unlock them.
Yes of course armies are different. And? Tell me why it would not be okay for the mg42 to cost 280mp.
Because you have to also consider the timing of units |
You mean the penals that indeed are 300 mp and require teching that will cuck you out of any support weapons or proper AT? Also, this thread isnt about penals. I don't want to argue about penals, i dont care about penals they could be removed for all I care if Conscripts were fixed and soviet t2 which is why penal play is so strong. Also I play Axis and hardly soviets nowadays
I actually had to recheck and ure right got me there, my bad. I still remembered vickers is 280 for some reason, well nonetheless its pretty meh compared to 42 at the same price.
My main point is that either 42 is too good or other MG's are severely lacking (except 50.cal) which is kinda the case. But the vickers and 50.cal was even nerfed few patches ago which makes no sense to me that much
Yes osthers mg42 is the best mg in the game, no faction relies more on their MG's then ostheer. Ofc other MG's will feel weaker when u compare them to the mg42 and that's your mistake. Vickers, .50 cal and maxim are all still very useful and are performing just as ther supposed to |
Alright smartass, I know it is fun to nitpick some stuff other guy said and turn it around in order to support your argument (I do it sometimes too), but this stuff don't really contribute to discussion.
My argument was applied to the scenario provided by other forum member where USF player have 2 Jacksons against his Tiger. Don't sit on your fuel for whole game just to build Tiger if you see your opponent already have Jackson (and probably can have second one) - this is quite reasonable thing to suggest, don't you think?
I suggest to make a new poll on which buffs Tiger needs with these options:
- ...but allied TDs!
- ...but muh 4-man grens!
- ...but dual equip!
There are lots of shitty whiners on both sides - mostly-allies and mostly-axis players, but DAMN! Players, who favors Wehrmacht faction go over the roof just as always.
Allright, back to the topic -
As SupremeStefan pointed out it is very hard to find good balance on single TD of a faction without overbuffing/nerfing it performance against meds or heavies. Best solution is to split it in two - anti-medium TD and anti-heavy TD, but I don't think we'll se that happening.
The other option I see here is to make it so Jackson by default would be good against meds and only be good against heavies with HVAP. I'm not a modder and not sure if it is possible, but it would be good to cut some range on default shells and add it back for HVAP.
Also IIRC HVAP still does more damage than default shell. Well, this is nonsense and may be cut to standard 160 damage.
What else is he guna build, whats he supposed to spend his fuel on then? that's the point Jacksons, shut down EVERY axis tank COMFORTABLY, they outrage, out speed, out flank them all with ease. Every other 60 range TD has glaring weaknesses whilst the Jackson weaknesses is easily covered by its strengths
Jackson should be nerfed just how JLI are being nerfed, with very small changes at a time, all i suggested so far was a moving ACC nerf, thats all it will still counter every axis tank just less so on the move and more venerable when getting flanked.
|
Alot of the so called "OP" stats ppl claim the JLI, has, they've had for the past 4 years, why wernt they OP then too?
What the mod team is doing excacly right, trying to find the sweet spot between when they were OP and never used where as thes weeboos want to triple nerf it into oblivion, ffs limited to 1? ridiculous |
alright guys eslayer gave his solution! dont build tanks vs USF and hope ur volks or grens will beat fully vetted/dual equipped riflemen lol. god forbid if usf builds a scott its g fkin g |
The whole thread is about that this is NOT the case.
The Tank battle u may think of is sherman against Tiger. The regular is that Jacksons and SU 85 stomp the Axis Tanks while they cant fight back. The only Tank that trade ok is the Panther. And thats the reason why u see so much Panther`s in the current Meta.
Jacksons stomp every axis tank i agree, there but the su85? no, su85 is VERY venerable to flanks unlike the jackson. Before any buffs to the tiger, id rather specifically look at the clearly OP jackson. imo they defo need a moving accuracy nerf, they no longer a TD u have to flank with and make them more vulnerable getting caught out.
The amount of times i flanked and caught a Jackson with my panther, only for the panther to miss every shot while the jackson moves and hits all of its shots, ridiculous.
Point is every 60 range TD has strong advantages and strong disadvantages, however the Jackson's advantages greatly overshadows its weaknesses. |
The volks problem is that they changed the damage of kar98K from 8 and 10. And also they give volks the stg44 update.
So actually, 2 volks squads with stg44 update had the fire power of one grenadier squad and one panzergrenadier. For me, I would rather see they change the price of volks to 270 or 280 MP to better reflect their multiple roles.
Damage stats are completely misleading without accuracy, DPS values and ranges. Post the DPS of STG volks, PzGrens, upgraded grenadiers and upgraded allied inf and you'll see |
Agreed with the OP on everything except for mayybe recon runs since at least you can shoot them down and they aren't super cheap IMO.
IMO its the worst offender of all though. Because it has zero combat capability (I'm guessing), it's literally one of the cheapest units in the game, and then it can always be scanning instead of fighting. Stuff like the valentine is at least decently expensive and its just a sight range boost on the valentine now, instead of a massive maphack that reveals camo units too.
Because valentine has combat capability ffs.
The unit has been bugged since OKW release, giving permanent vision on infantry units. This is the reason why it's been banned from recent tournaments.
Harder to justify it's cost on 1v1. Trickier on 2v2 but no brainer in 3v3.
But because 80% of the playerbase is real bad who doesn't use minimap/tactical map and don't bother with using suppression tools, they don't seem to realise it. Just so people don't get triggered, this also applies to other genres. Call it MOBAS or FPS. I have seen cheaters on Battlefield with constant spotting enemies across the map and no one from the other 31 players in my team, realising what is happening.
Same reason why radio silence is underwhelming. You don't benefit from it, if your opponent doesn't use the minimap in the first place.
If certain units are OP ppl will abuse them. If the uhu was so broken as ur all seem to make out, it would be being abused majority of games but it doesn't. I see it rarely and only in team games.
You guys also need to understand OKW dont have access to other non doc recon overflight like USF, and correct me if i'm wrong only have access to recon in 2 doctrines (luftwaffe and special operations).
|
Valentine is literally T70, which is literally any other scout car range.
Uhu is the REAL actual issue when it comes to too efficient scouting.
Uhu has zero combat capability. Ther is a reason why its the least used out of all the options above. |
tank is fine, its just axis dont have 60 range, high damage, high pen tank destroyers which is why they struggle vs tanks with decent armour and high health pool. |
