Their veterancy provides different bonuses along different lines and that shouldn’t be a huge issue, but somehow apparently it is because dozers are so obviously going to be meta. And brummbars aren’t ever seen in teamgames, obviously because they don’t rotate fast enough. Kappa. That is is incorrect. A Vet 0 Brumbar has 800HP same as vet 3 Brumbar. It take 5 penetrate shots from standard ATG to kill a Brumbar. It does get an armor bonus. A Vet 0 Dozer has 720HP, it take 5 penetrate shots from standard ATG to kill a Dozer. At vet 2 Dozer get 160 (in mod) going up to 880 and it take now 5 penetrated shots to kill a Dozer. It does not get any armor bonus. Depending on the Penetration values of the gun firing and RNG a Dozer might even have an advantage since it can take an extra shot, but lets call them equal. In: Lobby

Instead of trying to find a place for it in CP make it an upgrade for m20 requiring some tech. That would also help M20 to lose some of its shock value since it will be able to transfer to light vehicle stage. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: USF Tech Changes Mod Changelog23 Nov 2018, 15:26 PM I would suggest testing the following changes: Instead of using a 1 and 1.5 tech system use a 0.5 tech system. (cost might need some changes, should server as examples) (tech level are compared to ostheer) Tech options: Platoon command post (tech level 0.5) cost 60/5 gives access to HMG. (the weapon might need to be toned)(no free officer). Can be upgrade to unlock LT and m20 cost 40/15, m20 can now be upgraded to greyhound once Battalion Command post has been unlocked. One could add the BAR unlock and adjust price. (no free officer) (if officer comes "free" cost need to go up) (tech level 1.5) Company command post (tech level 0.5) Cost 60/5 gives access to Mortar. One could add the bazooka unlock and adjust price(no free officer) Can be upgraded to unlock Captain, access to ATG and M15a1 cost cost 100/25 (no free officer) (if officer comes "free" cost need to go up) (tech level 2) Battalion Command post If PcP and CcP are unlocked of one of them upgrade one can unlock Battalion Command post for 100/40 getting access to Stuart (that might need some buffs), even a toned down M8a1 (no free officer) (if officer comes "free" cost need to go up)(tech level 2.5). Can be upgrade to unlock the rest of the vehicles. The ideas behind the changes are: Adapt tech cost to follow Ostheer tech tree Have more tools to better time units Get rid of "free" officers system which makes it difficult to quantify tech cost, and reduces the space for doctrinal call-in units Remove the pack howitzer from the stock options since it would give a edge in support weapons vs Ostheer while a infantry edge already exists. Allow better timing for USF calling units like the M10,dozer, that can now find a spot requiring some tech. In: Lobby

And that is why imo it is the lethality it should be toned and not survivability. Dozer comes with non doctrinal smoke round and if the Brumbar was reversing with 10% HP a vet 2 Dozer revamped would be reversing with 160 HP. The former I have never seen and the latter I see in almost every teamgame. A Brumbar with a CP4 has the same EHP as a Dozer vet 2. Do you know how radio net works? The unit does not have to be vet3. Do you know what is the reload speed a Dozer can have at vet 1 compared that of Brumbar vet1? Are you talking about dozer in live or in patch? I have not tested but my guess would be that Penal win vs riflemen with the same vet level. If in heavy cover and max range, I would again guess they would beat 1 bar riflemen at vet 3. I do agree that their should be some tech cost for PTRS, I don't agree that the whole PTRS system works thou. If one wants PTRS in T1 one should probably redesign Guards to avoid overlap. If one want some anti light in T1 one could always bring the M-42 into t1, if it is designed to counter light vehicles only. In: COH2 Balance

I'd better vote for them being reworked and changed to a different role. Some kind of soviet osttruppen, or AT specialist, or cheap but fragile CQC unit for agressive play. I don't know which is better, but IMO giving them a completely different role will bring Cons back to the table. But that's not easy task. I agree. My suggestion is that if both units are available at the same time frame they should get separate roles. Conscripts a defensive role Penal an offensive one One could even try swapping them from conscripts from t1 to t0 if there was a need. In: COH2 Balance

Penals cost even more than most expensive mainlines - rifles and tommies, so they should be wrecking, don't you think? Plus, they cannot buy BARs, Brens, MGs, etc., so they should bear some power without them. But I do agree that some adjustments must be done to penals. Nor nerf nor buff, but reworking. Now they are kinda simply strong infantry which u should take to win fights. But people complain penals win fights too easy, and playing cons is too hard. In the December Patch Relic decided to move Guards and Shock troops to CP1. They made no other changes they simply lowered CP by 1. That made both units OP and Soviets dominated until February. Imo that is clear indication that there a power limit for each time frame that should not be exceeded. Penals are badly designed exactly because they are too strong for their time frame. Penal are equal to vanilla paratroopers in target size, number of entities and DPS up to range 20 (paras get allot better close than 20) while they are facing unit designed to fight long range. Paras are a unit from completely different time frame at CP3 and cost of 380. Imo riflemen are on the edge of the power level for that time frame and the 300MP Penals simply do not belong there. Same but on smaller scale goes for Guards that should be either at CP3 or have their power level reduced to 330. The fact they can not upgrade with AI weapons can easily be changed if they are toned in power level and price. In: COH2 Balance

Heavy early-to-mid game use of the 25 pounders will leave you with a severe munitions shortage, meaning you're struggling to lay mines and to heal and upgun your infantry. Late game, it's just another off-map. PLS read the previous page, if UKF need a mortar give them one redesign the dam faction together with USF and be done with. Else simply lower the power level of OKW and Soviet and be done with it. Being hit by off map with the only option to relocated (no other counter play) is simply bad design. In: COH2 Balance
