I think PGrens are a different issue, in live they come to the field at a time where only UKF can field a proper counter with the MG, viable Soviet and USF builds are 2-3 min away from getting counters.
PGrens (also Obers) have the additional benefit that they are extremely good at chasing, something only barred up Riflemen can do to a similar extend. Soviets do not get similar infantry at all, while USF need to rely on Paras/Rangers and UKF usually on commandos for something similar, although also Commandos have a steep DPS drop.
I do not really see how PG are "extremely" good at chasing and that much better than Soviet infatry.
DPS on the move 10/20/35:
Penal 14.3/10.5/6.3
Pg 24.3/12.86/4.2
They get really good at chasing with G43s.
LMG Airborne guards on the move get:
14//13.2/12.7 !
A wait you were talking about the preview version, I only thought about the live build.
In the end the units have quite some important differences though, there is no reason why they must have the same veterancy.
Yes they should not have the same veterancy.
On the other hand vet bonus overhaul is long overdue and many vet bonuses like the vet 1 camo for RW and vet 5 vet bonus for JP are simply bad.
The only reason I even pointed it out was because elchino7 made a reference to "cautious movement defensive perks" (I guess he referring to "dimaterialize") which is also available to Soviet cloaked vehicles.
He is implying the boost you suggest is too strong.
Increasing the pen/accuracy more is fine, not dmg. Specially when cautious movement defensive perks have never been fixed.
Oddly SU-76 get same defensive perk (although it can not move) and 1.2 accuracy/penetration from vet 1 and the M-42 start with camo and first strike bonus +25% reload speed,+20% accuracy,+20% penetration contrary to RW.
In the June 21 patch before M36 for it HP increased it had it acceleration increased to 3 as bandaid
"M36 Jackson
Developer Comments: Increased LOS to allow the M36 to better kite, locate and hunt enemy armor without boosting its firepower any further.
LOS from 35 to 40
Tank acceleration increased from 2.5 to 3
Veterancy 2 sight radius bonus changed from 30% to add 5
Since firepower and HP have been increased one should revert acceleration change the same way that sight bonus was removed.
Grens are indeed really good infrantry, they are not weak by any means. The MG42 should be moved to T1 and grens back to T0.
If you're playing versus someone who knows how to use the MG42 aggressively instead of it sitting idle in some building or protecting some cutoff, it is pretty OP
the debate is about lmg42 the weapon upgrade and not the hmg42 the support weapon.
Interesting, they're far cheaper yet more deadly than upgraded penals and cons. Is that why youre listing these costs? Thanks for explaining their excellent value
