Right you can upgrade to Lmg42 often sooner than to g43. Suggestion: - CP requirements for g43 reduced to Cp1 (from 2) - Mun cost back to 45 ammo (from 60 now) I am not sure why the mod team is spending so much resources on the G43 (with no satisfactory result). Simply merge Jaeger Light Infantry Upgrade with Jaeger Command Squad is one unit available in CP 1 and reduce the number of G43 to 2. In: COH2 Balance

They are backed up by MGs, ATGs and a stronger early game Volksgrenadier to mitigate their early weakness. And bad design or not, we will likely have to live with it since changing Soviet T1 is not just a slight tweak but a complete faction rework. And this we won't get unless Relic decides to be genourous and allows another big faction patch. Therefore, we have to make the best out of this and take into account that Penals need to carry their T1. There was plenty of sides notes. I clearly said T1/Penal are badly designed. I posted that Penal power level is "fine" and point out that have similar power level with G43 PF while being considerably cheaper. A different upgrade path would be nice, but I am not sure what would be the best. PPShs clash with Shocks, DP28 potentially with Guards. A bar-like DP28 would be a bit weird in the game logic since only elites can usually shoot MGs on the move. A Pathfinder-like sniper rifle could lead to a terminator squad given Penals decent DPS. Plus it clashes with the sniper in T1. That's a tough nut. But what if this crate just gave Penals some utility upgrade? Would also be weird logic wise, but it's maybe a way to go. The ability is simply badly designed and should be redesigned. An ability giving weapons/munition to allies with no counter play should not be in the game. In: COH2 Balance

HMG argument hold no water at all, with the same logic they can have an flamer/M3 or sniper backing which OKW can not. Unless your suggestion is to move the ATG to the HQ and unlock it with both T1 and T2, Penals need to fill in for a lot of roles that Axis get basically by default. Also, late game Penals caused higher bleed than other main lines (basically other units in general), that's why the current patch addressed this with reducing reinforcement costs in the late game. Exactly my point, expecting Penal to carry the T1 build on their own is bad design. In: COH2 Balance

That is why for example a Thompson needs to reload after as few as 12 bullets at far range and up to 126 bullets at close range. What could help is varying reload frequency more, so models would reload more in turns rather than all at once. But tbh it's too late now to go mess around with this kind of stuff. One could increase the CD between burst so that there more burst left in the weapon when in close range. In: COH2 Gameplay

Not really I have always said that badly designed. They are not however UP in any way thus they are "fine" when it comes to power level. (I am use the term fine because I would rather avoid yet another debated about Penal power level). They are actually cheaper and arrive earlier than g43 Fuss while about the same power level from vet 1-3, and some people claim g43 Fuss are OP. In: COH2 Balance

In addition some of the upgrades alternate from dominating the meta to becoming obsolete. In sort the are difficult to balance. My suggestions is to turn some of this weapons upgrade to squad so that they can separately balance and not over lap. The change includes: Flamer for EFA. USF have assault engineer no need fo such an upgrade (replace with better weapons or abilities for riflemen like M1C, M9A1, defensive stances increasing far dps no suppression) UKF Separate engineer (or IS) with rifles OKW A separate engineer type unit lower Pop, K98, sandbag, wire, mine sweepers, to share the burden with SP Ostheer Jaeger Light Infantry upgrade/Jaeger Command Squad Scrap the upgrade replaced with toned version of JCS. Either scrap Jaeger Command Squad or redesign to have some "command" abilities like min version of "Smoke Raid Operation" (without the cap) Soviet Conscript PTRS Package Conscript Assault Package Upgrade Scrap the upgrades replace with "new" squads with abilities/bonuses designed for the role. UKF Tank Hunter Infantry Section The only unit to go the other way round. Scarp unit move Boys to Halftruck allowing engineer to equip the weapon. In: COH2 Balance
