The JPIV needs a penetration buff. It's nowhere near SU 85, Firefly or Jackson, and is a big part why it's a forgotten unit. Big problem is OKW units having a huge price tag but performing very badly compared to their counterparts
it's a good unit. It's just forgotten because the Panther is idiot proof whereas a casemate TD requires more micro to an extent. |
Axis players: TOMMIES OP!
Also axis players: Lets put in T1 infantry that's considerably stronger then tommies, doesn't have a weakness of short range dps being too low while outperforming them at long range, scales better and got much better abilities, because reasons.
While obers arriving earlier would be a good thing to explore, they -are- high tier, very powerful infantry, not something that belongs in early game.
tbh I'm happy to see anything that isn't volksvolksvolks constantly.

I think a lot of this controversy stems from the fact that axis players are generally very bad about supporting their tanks with infantry (despite OST now even getting a free passive buff for doing so). Because USF has no effective non-doc mines outside the M20 M6, they make these risky dives and then try to blitzkrieg out. M36 catches up/pursues and boom, dead tank.
I think the way to fix this is to either add a pop up message for axis players reminding them to cover their tank pushes against USF, or, if we are to nerf the M36, reduce its HP but give all riflemen the cheap RE mines (at normal build time) and give REs the M7 mines Ass Engies get.
Boom, Axis get their M36 nerf and USF can still hope to stop Axis blitz drives. Nerfing speed, range, or ROF wouldn't accomplish this, so I think more accessible mines are the only choice.
On the other hand you could also make the M20 M6 mine cheaper.
Especially in team games. Panther spam has been the late-game strategy for years so it's expected that people will struggle to change. |
I think we need to wait for the dust to settle from the new patch before anything else. New commanders and changes always cause a new meta.
As someone said above, making the JP4 more readily available would be a solution to one of the OKWs few weaknesses. However, the JP4 can be very tanky so it may require adjusting if it is to come sooner. |
Is it some kinda of magic tank, that destroys everything?
Its very user friendly, being fast, well armoured with decent health and range. Plus very good vet.
Personally I prefer the Pz4 when playing as OKW as it is more than potent enough to handle most allied armour while having decent AI. |
Or make the 76 a T3 sidetech, therefore allowing a T70 window and allowing it to be skipped?
Was about to suggest this. T34/76 feels out of place in T4 until you have amassed enough of them.
T3.5 would make more sense and allow the T34/85 to be worked into stock. Replace T85 in doctrines with M4C perhaps. |
they'll build (or start building) a mortar pit near the frontline, cause you a bit of a headache
There are some issues deserving of a balance thread. This is not one of them. |
by that logic shouldn't the panther have superb rear armor ? as it's meant to counter them ?
You have to look at all factors for both vehicles. The Panther has a much better gun and speed than the churchill so that offsets its rear armour values vs the churchill to most players. |
If your enemy has enough fuel to spam churchills to the extent that it overwhelms your defences then they could have drowned you in Cromwells long before hand.
The Churchill is really only good at body blocking an assault then trundling back for lengthy repairs. If you want to actually go on the offensive you /leave then rematch as USF/USSR as UKF is a borderline meme faction
|
The problem is not simply the performance of Churchill but the performance of allied armor/TD and infatry.
Armour, TD's and AND infantry are the problem now?
That's a very generalist statement XD |
