Don't put words in my mouth, it's insulting. I'm not defending communism lol. Calm down.
My post was about Relic failing to sell WW2 video games and turning CoH2 into Company of Villains.
Perhaps the context was unclear and could be misunderstood, for that I apologize. For those that have read my previous posts on CoH2.org I believe the context is clear.
Alienating paying customers is bad business and Relic did this with both CoH2: Eastern Front and DoW3. Perhaps some of this was un-intentional but the result is the same.
WW2 is very popular in Russia and Wargaming has capitalized on this while Relic did shit.
Don't lecture me on politics/failed ideologies, I'm well aware about the danger of communism+nazism, more than you think. Also Russia did not invent communism, that came from Europe.
Most countries has a light/dark side as do America/Europe.
A. Soldier you don't seem to understand where Russians get their news from such as RT and alternative media. Movies are entertainment and to insinuate this is what Russia believes is just BS.
If you want to know what Russians believe in go watch some RT shows who has far less propaganda than any American MSM channel (including FOX).
Currently Tucker Carlson (former CNN) is the only good MSM journalist that is left.
RT Max Keiser Report also is great.
Keiser Dropping truth bombs about Goldman Sachs story:
As American you'll be more informed watching Russia TV channels (RT) than any American MSM channel (except Tucker Carlson). Irony?
Yes I know RT has bias, but they do more journalism than American MSM. That's a fact, like it or not.
I will politely ask you to not be aggressive as my post was not aimed at you but at the Soviet fanboys that believe the Soviets as nothing less than heroes and 1 man Armies.
And I wasn't using sarcasm when I said that I appreciate your way of making threads, citing your sources instead of just writing empty words like most people (including me) because they cannot be bothered to do so.
I simply do not wish to have Soviet Propaganda in games so that's why I'm at least supporting Relic and other developers for not giving in to Russian bias.
And just so you know I don't watch the news, we don't even have TV where I live. I'm not here to argue politics or compare ideologies.
I think the Tiger II is in a great spot rn. Only thing i’d change is a tiny bit more armour for slihtly lower repair speeds.
I would say Blitzkrieg being a Vet 1 ability again as well.
It along with smoke are something like the "bread and butter" of German Armor basically from my observations.
German tanks are almost always out-gunned (by Allied TDs at least) and out-numbered so they need these "crutch" abilities as some call them in order to be effective or at least survive.

Relic community manager (Noun) pouring gas on fire. I don't blame Noun, but he is not the guy that put out a community fire.
All things considered, this studio basically told Russia/Eastern audience to go play another video game (classic Relic passive-aggressive behavior/righteousness/holier than thou attitude).
This failure + negative user reviews cost Relic millions of dollars and without a doubt will impact future sales due to brand devaluation etc..
CoH is not Call of Duty, WW2 fans won't easily forget Relic betrayal like this (along with p2w betrayal etc.). For years Relic leadership was tone deaf to fan criticism which then resulted in DoW3 betrayal as well.
CoH: Eastern front, Relic really missed out on a great WW2 market opportunity.
So they don't want to sell CoH3 to Russia? Wargaming WoT do not exist without Russia WW2 patriotism.
Below a few Russian WW2 songs that highlight how popular WW2 is in Russia (gamer or not):

First off, I want to thank you for actually inspiring me to write my very post mimicking yours Cobra, very much appreciated for your "model" so to speak.
Second, here's me destroying the "heroic" myth of communism and the Soviet Union in one fell swoop:
Of course there are many more Soviet genocides such as in the Gulags and the countless small crimes committed by the NKVD and KGB but if I go more into those I'd probably be here the whole day and night writing this post so I'll just leave it at that. I also stumbled upon a nice book called "The black book of communism" if anybody is further interested in the many atrocities that happened in the Soviet Union.
Next we come to my other point, using dogs as anti-tank weaponry:
I have no words to describe my anger as a dog lover. I can only say that I am glad to have read that the dogs were either too afraid of tanks and stayed by their trainers to blow them up or ran towards Soviet tanks since they were trained on them.
I want to also mention that the Soviets were also lacking the brains to carry their infantry in halftracks or other armored personnel carriers like other nations and their Armies and instead used them as tank armor, apart from having any other effective hand-held infantry anti-tank weaponry besides AT grenades and AT rifles. The Germans at least had the common sense to see that the bazooka had potential and improve upon it.
Last point I will make: Propaganda, a lot of it -
What the hell is this exactly? Soviets running through fire against big bad Germans? Really? The newest movie "T-34" which is basically a knock-off of Fury is also full of it and another good example:
And they said Hollywood was bad. If it's not that then it's single Soviet soldiers defeating the entire German Army, all by themselves.
I mean sure you could say we have a lot of propaganda as well and single man Armies but even in Rambo you have the US Government portrayed as a sort of bad guy.
The only Russian movies that I would say were non-biased and I actually liked because they weren't full to the brim with propaganda are the Brest Fortress and perhaps the Woman's Death Battalion and I recommend them to anyone who wants to see actually good Russian movies.
Honestly I would rank Russian movies as #1 in the propaganda ladder, then come the Chinese and then maybe America's Hollywood as recently patriotism in the US in the movie making business has seen a steep decline for one reason or another but I will not get into it here.
So to end it here, I honestly do not care (about Russian opinions) and support Relic's decision on not siding with the Russians in their propaganda hungry demands of portraying the Soviets in a more heroic light. They were not heroes by any stretch of the imagination.
However I would like to say that to those who call me a blind and arrogant, and perhaps ignorant American Patriot or Wehrboo, I respect the common soldier, even the Soviet one, and I also found the Soviet campaign as horrendous. But the Soviets deserve to be portrayed the same as the US, British and Germans were in Company of Heroes, as common soldiers with their own stories, not as heroes and not as villains, but as humans.
The Tiger II has 375 armor and 1280 health.
The Tiger has 300 armor and 1040 health.
The Tiger II deals 240 damage per shot while the Tiger deals only 160 damage per shot, so the Tiger II deals a lot more damage (its reload is only 1s worse) to vehicles. It also has larger AOE now. I think the Tiger is a bit better at sniping models while the Tiger II will deal 30-50% health damage to the entire squad per shot because of its larger AOE.
As for the overal performance of the units, the Tiger I is more of a Panther that can also damage infantry. It's better than the Tiger II in larger maps because of its higher mobility. The Tiger II is more tanky and deals more damage, but is a lot slower. It's best used on smaller maps where it can just stay in one area and can't get flanked easily.
I believe it was range that we argued about actually and not the damage if I remember correctly, still tho thanks for the stat numbers.
So in conclusion, the Tiger is overall better than the KT, including it's range being better? Hot damn.
I mean I really don't see the KT is anything other than a slow but heavy and well armored punching bag then. Of course it punches back, hard, but at that price... Idk.
Actually in coh1, British Offices have "maintain command range", which stick them to the squad. It work in coh1 because Offices and infantry have the same walking speed but if you stick a pgr to vehicle, they cant catch up.
Other officer units could use a follow command/ability as well so Idk why they didn't add it.
Hello, so I've been wondering now for a long time about this.
We have the KT and "Command" Tiger in the OKW now for a few good months so I've been interested in what people think about a comparison of the 2. Or a comparison of the Ost Tiger and OKW KT with the OKW "Command" Tiger being on a side note or something.
Stat wise comparison would be nice as well if somebody could provide them, I have the Mod Tools installed but I really have no idea on where to get all of the stats and so forth for both of the units.
I'm just interested in some opinions and constructive feedback on both and their use, for example Tiger is easier and cheaper to get but I think lacks the health and armor of the KT, however I remember me and sander having a discussion in the shoutbox some time ago and he told me that for balance reasons both tanks do almost the same damage to vehicles. I also think the Tiger does more damage to infantry or something?
To be honest, and this is jut my own personal opinion of course, I'd just simply either replace the Puma or Command Panzer IV with a King Tiger.
A lot of people would like to see an Ost KT and I think this would be the best doctrine to put it in as it fits the theme perfectly.
Plus maybe replace the Osttruppen reserves with the regular osttruppen call in or a special squad that can merge, maybe repair and have an upgrade to Panzerbusche 39s since they won't be able to build trenches and sandbags so they'll need more utility.
You seem to have missed the point of these units. These unit would not have to role of cannon fodder but the role of reinforcing squads that have suffer casualties via merge.
Wouldn't it be easier to have something like recoup losses then and just have it as a timed ability that allows you to reinforce units for cheaper rather than involving a larger amount of micro?
Also it doesn't matter what you or I think, you have an idea and you implement it, right? But people have different ideas and they are bound to use them as cheap and expandable troops since they will probably have rifles at the least and be a 6 man squad and will probably also complain that they are lacking.
So again, sorely have a unit meant to merge and nothing else seems like a waste of potential and a commander slot, not to mention an ability.
The ability instead of returning normal ostturppen and normal conscripts it would return a new type of squad that would be able to merge but nor reinforce. They could use Conscript/VG models with target size of 1.
The idea behind it is that these troops would be used to reinforce front-line troops, one could even add a bit of heal into merging, without actually getting more normal squads.
I'm sorry but I'm against cannon fodder units (such as the Conscripts as their description states) and I don't think they fit in a game's theme of preserving squads because of their veterancy.
A player should be encouraged to call in units that bring value to the battlefield and for which said player can try to keep them alive for, not use them as simple, expandable cannon fodder to simply throw in the meat grinder without a care in the world.
That is what's the problem with these abilities in the first place, you will most likely not get in as severe in an engagement to lose enough models for the max amount of squads to get out of the ability in order to be effective and are basically encouraged to lose squads if needed which doesn't make sense to me, especially taking into account that you're probably losing Pioneer, Grenadier and Panzergrenadier models, which are higher value than Osttruppen, for an Osttruppen squad without much utility, because Osttruppen rely on their trenches and doctrines to give them the tools in order to be effective.
Instead of going for a new type of squad meant for merging, that would probably bring up a dozen bug and exploits, what about simply replacing them with ostruppen/conscript reserves? It would be reworked such that one of the two squads would always arrive with AT weaponry, panzerbüchse and ptrs.
The Soviet Conscripts already have merging and if it was so full of bugs and exploitable why hasn't it been removed until now? If the Soviets have it then somebody else can probably have it as a doctrinal ability, I don't see anything wrong with that.
And they also tried to remove the RNG involved in call in squads, that's why you don't see it with the Osttruppen Reserves and Partisans anymore bringing in shrecks and having varied amount of veterancy (not for those units specifically but it was a thing a long time ago for other Armies and their units).
I would rather have them return squad that can merge but not reinforce. The could use the VG/Conscripts models/assets.
That would be a way to deliver fresh troops to front-line without getting stuck with unwanted squads.
I'd love nothing more than Merging and perhaps even repairing, Panzerbüsche 39 upgraded Osttruppen squad call in but I don't think what you're suggesting is realistic.
And Conscripts there's nothing more to do with since they get weapon upgrades and support abilities through a lot of doctrines.
My opinion is that they're better off just being replaced by entirely different things to be honest.
Simplest thing for the Ostheer is the standard Osttruppen call in, not sure about the Soviets tho.
