A nerf to its hp seems like the easiest solution, but maybe another option might be available? I think a more interesting thing to do would be, instead of nerfing its hp, maybe nerf its speed some more. Hear me out. It would promote counterplay, a healthy and vital aspect to competitive games. A churchill slower than it already is would promote a whole different sort of playstyle and open up all sorts of different counters which CoH2 would have never seen before. It would mean an overextended churchill would be dead meat. It would take much longer for it to reach the lethal range where it can throw grenades at AT guns. This means AT guns can kite the churchill more easily. A failed offensive with a churchill can spell doom if it can't retreat at the same speed as its support can. Even if you see a churchill, if you can rush it with enough AT, it won't be able to escape like it can currently. And with its hp as its strong point still, it would have reason to exist. Raise fuel to 160 and call it a day.
Or go the easy way and nerf its HP. *shrug* |
I love Ami and while I wouldn't be so blunt, it is kind of true. The game where Romeo and CieZ casted was probably the most informative game from a spectator point of view, Romeo and CieZ were ontop of things quite well important events were not missed. I like Ami's enthusiasm but it's frustrating as a viewer when something game-changing is happening but he's zoomed in on a soldier standing by a fence, or telling a story during a major push.
I also feel he comes off as rude at times, not intentionally, but when he made fun of Luvnest's accent and forced him to say words he couldn't pronounce so he could rip on him, it wasn't to Luvnest who just wanted to co-cast CoH2 and not be publicly insulted.
Yeah I agree, he almost bullies his co-casters in that sense, which I don't like. They are obviously very uncomfortable with it, and I don't know if he can't pick it up or he's fueled by his own hype, but he keeps going with it unrelentingly. I feel bad for whoever co-casts with him. The finisher is, he knows his faults, but he's stubbornly refusing to change, almost to the point of saltiness. I got that feeling from him casting the grand finals when he would bemoan that he's "not allowed" to zoom in and take away from the action, but does so anyway. Okay, that's enough from me. I've already veered too off-topic as it is. |
Well, I might as well add my 2 cents:
The good:
Lots of really good games from top players, loved to see them duke it out for $$$
The bad:
Honestly, I didn't like Ami as a caster. He talks over actual commentary and interjects with his own pointless narration. His co-casters try to do play-by-plays and he literally talks over them about how cool the trees are or something. We don't care about your self-appointed houses in Arhnem checkpoint! He zones out of the action to wistfully look at some insignificant detail for way too long! He reminds me of someone who's just bored of his job and tries to pass the time by doing literally anything but his job.
Okay this kind of turned into a "flame ami" post, but I hope I didn't come off too mean and this can be taken as constructive criticism on how to improve his casts for the future. More analysis, more play-by-plays! Less talking about dumb houses. Literally nobody cares but you, dude |
Me going from page 2 to page 3: WTF DID I MISS |

The saddest thing is that the 90 fuel StuG III beats the 120 fuel SU-85 1v1 in a vacuum. |
As much as I'd like it in order to open up my Soviet strats, I don't think it'll be very good for the game. Look at the 45mm AT gun for indication on how successful this idea would be. |
Tracking for self-propelled guns crap too. That's funny realize that soviet have useful vet 1 for arty, heavy machine guns, mortars and M3/M5. Soviet vet 1 for all other units can be removed from the game whenever, no one will notice
Tracking would be more useful if it increases your sight range by 10-15 instead of 5... And yeah, cap points on med/heavy tanks and tripwire flares on all infantry are useless. Why? |
Ost PZ IV should be 120 fuel given the new Cromwell sets the curve for what a med tank should cost. OKW PZ IV should stay the same since it comes with skirts. |

Don't know what you're talking about. He only lost the first one, he lost a Cromwell as well. His second and third ones survived till the end. That combined with the 4 AT guns he accumulated were enough to seal the win.
Gee, I wonder how he accrued so many AT guns |

Having watched a few streams vs him, people only seem to build a Pak when the Centaur comes out, not preparing for it. Its pretty clear he will build it. Also some cleverly placed tellers with a bait might be possible. A JP4 built in time will also kill it pretty easily.
I'm not saying that it doesn't need adjusting but people cant expect to counter it without bothering to prepare for its arrival.
In his game 2 vs. KoreanArmy, he not only lost his first centaur seconds after it arrives, but his second one in a similarly quick amount of time, yet for those few minutes they were on the map, they wiped so much infantry that it was unrecoverable. KA lost the game even though he dealt with those two Centaurs beautifully.
His opponents know how to deal with it. It deals too much irreversible damage, whether it's on the field for 10 minutes or 10 seconds. |
