It's obvious to anyone who watches Relic's streams that they do not have many people who play their games internally. They are a company without a passion for gaming, which is a shame because the hallmark of a great game is loving and playing your own game. Sure, they have a couple of people in game design / balance that can play, but that's the thing. Their job is to balance / design. They don't have time to extensively play and find out how the game works from anything but a disconnected programmer's point of view.
Relic need to hire people whose sole job is to test internal builds of the game before they release. If they did that, so, SO many problems would be fixed before release so that we don't have to suffer for it. To have the audacity to not have internal testers and, at the same time, present their products to us without tasting their own product is a huge disrespect to us, their fanbase and customers.
What is the purpose of this thread? Why did I make it here and not anywhere else? I guess I'm just ranting. I don't feel like getting flamed by posting it on the official CoH2 forums. |
Honestly, the fact that this game is so ridden with bugs is phenomenal. Especially for basic stuff like Centaur and Vickers, where even the most basic of internal testing would weed out. Ever heard of that, Relic? Internal testing? Guess not. |
Good. |
>Implying there is going to be a hotfix before OCF
If Relic really cared about the tournament, there should have already been a hotfix already. It's Friday afternoon/evening, now.
UKF is broken, I agree, not in the "too strong" way, but the "bugs everywhere" way. |
I agree with OP. Maybe exclude AT gun penetration, but everything else would be fine. Would the inclusion of these "nerfs" hurt a good user of these TDs? No. Does it open up counterplay and eliminate the feeling of helplessness Allies face vs. these tanks? Yes.
To all of those saying rushing in with tanks are a counter to these mighty Tank Destroyers: OP has already pointed out in his post that that is indeed an "option," however it is 100% always a desperate option that pits you against the certainty that, if you fail, you have lost the game, and if you win, then you only push them back temporarily.
To all of those saying that ISU and IS2 counter these units: Is a t-34/76 a counter to a Panther because it can shoot and exchange frontal blows? Or would the Panther wreck the t-34 because of its superior HP, penetration, range, and effective damage? If you say ISU and IS2 are counters to Elefant and JT, then make a thread stating that t-34 is a counter to Panther, please. |
In my opinion, the main problem with ost sniper is his durability and super camo, not rate of fire. But fine, I'll take this nerf
Ost sniper gets a triple nerf this patch. 1) light vehicles are a harder counter 2) can't cloak on retreat, and 3) RoF reduction. I think it'll be fine now.
Very good changes, I'm very pleased to see them tweak stuff based on balance preview suggestions and add sensible things that we haven't seen yet. There is still some tweaks to OKW and UKF units that need to be done, and I felt like the heavy tank buffs were unwarranted and unnecessary, but the rest are cool. |
Fastest arriving hmg in the game, it's fine imo.
Remember, it has the slowest set up time of all allied hmg's, you can't A move them like a maxim and arguably the USF 50 cal.
Have to set them up first in the back, then scout with your infantry.
That's really not what this thread is about. It's about cost effectiveness, combat effectiveness has nothing to do with it. We all know how to use it. |
snip
Because historical accuracy is such a good idea for balance, right?
Please leave history out of this, there's a pinned topic in the official balance forums from Relic asking not to do it. |
Garrison inside buildings! |
I don't know about you guys, but the fact that the SU-76 having the same pen as the SU-85 doesn't mean that the 76 is overperforming, it's that the 85 is underperforming. An end-game tank destroyer shouldn't have the penetration rates of an AT gun you can build from minute one. For its cost and immobility, it shouldn't have such a large chance to bounce shots on Panthers or higher. The fact that the su-85 is underperforming is the reason that you see su-76s in spades. If you want it to stop, start threads for SU-85 buffs, please.
Like so many have said before me in previous threads, buff SU-85 penetration, nerf fire rate at vet 2 and higher. Buff maneuverability a smidgen to compensate for assault gun pathing. |
