They said it had more armor then a Tiger in-game. It's armor is in between the tiger and panther.
Pershing will have 300 armor |
so the churchill is getting nerfed and now people want the comet nerfed ???
|
Rangers will dominate the field |
So it can only take one less ATG shot. If it has 50 range, good firepower and better mobility?
It's not meant to be an IS-2 or Tiger clone, but just because it isn't does not mean the restrictions shouldn't apply. Do we want the heavy tank call-in meta to return?
when did the Heavy callin meta die??
just because people cant bring another IS-2/Tiger into battle doesnt mean the heavy callin meta has died
|
i believe the pershing will be a comet clone limited to one.
the only thing that will be OP about this new commander will be rangers |
Ah I see, asymmetrical balance is only good if it's the way you like it, right? You have no argument, you can't argue against the T-34 being different and complain that Armies are becoming too similar, that's hypocritical. The T-34 is asymmetrical because it's very cheap, you can amass them. In regards to the Red Army, Stalin once said "Quantity has a quality all its own." and that's what makes the T-34 unique to the Sherman or Churchill.
whats the point of having 4 t34-76s if you cant fight infantry or tanks??
i used the unit alot even before the tech changes and i believe that the current t34-76 is just a kamikaze stun tank and nothing more,it doesnt fight infantry well and cant handle tanks.
why should i spent 300mp and 80 fuel on a unit that will stun itself and damage its gun in order to stun for a little bit the enemy tank? mines and guards do it better and more reliably and cheaper
so again its only use is to fight what eever it faces which in turn sucks at doing so(unlike the sherman)
and here is GOOD asymmetrical balance
USF Paratroopers vs UKF commandos vs OKW fallschirmjager
these units are a good example of asymmetrical balance
but the Panzer 4 vs Sherman vs T34-76 vs Cromwell
the only unit here that doesnt have a unique aspect in the above example is the t34-76,and if you tell me"spamming it" is its unique aspect then i must guide you to the conscript example
conscripts unlike t34-76s come early, this is the only difference between those 2 units
|
Different for the sake of different doesn't make something good. Want a good example? Look at the T-34/76, nobody uses it, everyone complains about it. Why? Because it's different, it's not a Sherman or a Cromwell.
bad example here
the t34-76 is just a nerfed version of the sherman wwhile costing less, there is nothing unique to it other then dying to anything that has AT fire arms. |
The amount of DPS you are doing is significantly lessened unless you instantly attempt to use stun shot right after it fires as you are forcing it to reload. Also stun shot is better used on Pak's because it's a guaranteed chance to pen anyway. Against tanks with 640 or near that health Elefant stun shot isn't very useful. It's not about escaping after stun, it's escaping BECAUSE you tried to use stun.
Pfuss are excellent, yes but later on in the game were you are having to micro like crazy it's hard to always dedicate squads to baby sitting the JT and preventing flanks. It's also such a massive investment that leaves you wide open to enemy infantry and tank spam because you just dumped the equivalent of 367 allied fuel into one tank.
All unit values and stats are tied to cost, not faction. Axis tanks don't magically have better armor because Krupp Steel they have better armor because they cost a fuckload more. It wouldn't make sense for cheaper tanks to have better armor now would it?
And you can hit the rear armor of the Jadg by pulling a deep flank with fast tank like Sherman/Easy Eight/T34 variants, ect. Or going in with PIATS or Zooks. The Jadgtiger also can easily be stun locked by just shooting at it (you don't need to pen it to stun it).
If your confidant in this you should link your playercard. Until you do this statement is meaningless.
Statistically most games don't last long enough for 14-15 CP units to enter the field and the Churchill hit's the field around 8-9 CP's. Going Churchill every game has been the 1v1 meta since release dude.
1vs1 churchill is the go to meta for BRITS ?????
are you sure you havent confused the churchill with the centaur?
also your logic for the state of heavy tank destroyers is laughable, their justified by their cost??? that goes against your logic, remember when you said that no matter the cost units and abilitys shouldnt be that powerful?
you and many other players that complained about the Air Supremacy Ability said it shouldnt be that powerful even if it costs alot of munitions then why exclude the elefant and the jagdtiger??
13-14Cp can be reached easily in 2vs2 games if you could explain me why you think otherwise
Also Churchill spam means the brit player doesnt have centaurs, cromwells, fireflys(which are useless)

This is not a whine thread, so no one get all uppity over this, this is my observation thats all, with hopefully a few suggestions in terms of balance/meta, and I am unbiased as you will see in this post. As always, as long as they are not biased or claims of OP, all comments are welcome, as well as opinions.
So as we all know, the Brits have 2 divergent final tech upgrades, the Hammer(Comet), or the Anvil(Churchill), my main problem comes with the Churchill, this unit is very cheap, and in 2v2 and up games, very much able to be produced in huge numbers, to me this is not so much balance, as it is an issue in the Meta(Maybe balance but idk?), from my play the game delves back into what Relic had tried to reduce heavy tank play/reliance by implementing a heavy limit to call ins, which has worked out great thus far, with the Brits we can see as many as three Churchills in a game depending on duration, map control, and the tactics the other team employs(such as saving fuel and playing infantry and AT gun heavy play). This is again, somewhat bringing the meta back to heavy tank reliance for the Brits ONLY.
Solution(s)/Thoughts:
The Churchill is a heavy, though not call in, it is a heavy, lets emplace a limit on that as well, one at a time, per player(Like the call in theory), this will employ players to use the tank in its more suitable role, of being a damage sponge, while using Firefly's behind it as the dmg dealer(This rule would also apply, to the King Tiger as well, with being allowed one at a time, not multiples, don't worry). This would again influence more combined arms play. The Comet in my opinion is not a heavy tank, to me it fits more of a medium style role and would be exempt from this limit, as well as the fact that is does have a much much higher cost than the Churchill, but does perform better in almost all roles it has.
Another idea would be to increase the Churchills cost, the reason behind this is simply its not as expensive to build, therefore you can get multiples with some degree of ease, but I don't think that is AS reasonable as the limitations on it, seeing as its AT performance is no where near worthy of a cost increase.
Conclusion:
Simply put, I was enjoying the expansion of combined arms play prior to the Brits, this had the made game rather stagnant, seeing as I play both sides of the game as an Axis(Mostly), and Allies(Whenver I can) the strategies get rather predictable with the Brits, if you see Anvil engineers, expect multiple Churchills at some point possibly(Not including a call in Churchill), I would just like to see this added so people would be encouraged to use the Cromwells and their speed for flanking, or Firefly’s using the Churchill as a sheild to soak up damage as they take down the enemy armor ahead. Thanks for reading, and any of your thoughts and feedback you may give.
Cheers,
Tech
limit to churchills??? why??? with that logic we should limit panthers then cause the USF cant deal with them unless they spam jacksons, this is the most stupid suggestion i have ever heard.
spamming churchills means the Brit player doesnt have other armor and cant recruit Comets, your best counter to them are tank destroyers
IF the churchill survives your tank destroyers with little health then chase it or deal with tha fact that you put it out of action for a while.
its not a cheap IS-2 so nothing game breaking
also consider the fact that the churchill in the alpha WAS USELESS and the brits went comet spam and ignored anvil option.

The point of the 25lber isn't to kill it, it's to deny its poisitioning for a minute while the barrages are going off. It takes time to wheel it to a new fifing position that also is safe.
It's basically a large AoE "Don't go here" button. It's also wonderful at killing houses. Would recommend having it on hand just to limit your opponents movement.
He can't be shooting both your infantry and your mortar. With a recon plane you shouldn't be caught by any MG's either. Most people move their army together so it's straight forward to bait him to one spot while a unit sneaks around another path. Use truesight and smoke to your advantage.
1.doesnt kill it/counter it
2.still you cant counter it,also the barrage is not accurate so i still have 1-2 ISG firing at me
3.only real counter atm i am afraid
4.sniper will die long before i manage to kill 2 ISG crew members so still i dont see it countering it
