They are cheaper to reinforce but they have bigger target size and thus suffer more loss while they need cover to have some DPS. And that is why I described them as grenadier ver.2 I am not sure what you arguing about unless you agree "that you play Ostruppen and Grens completely differently due to their toolsets." Ostruppen have always had the bigger target size and cover requirement and yet were used to good effect before so there really isn't a need to consider that. If you can build 2-3 ostruppen faster than 2-3 Grenadiers because they are cheaper then that is still an advantage is all I'm saying. Their faster/cheaper reinforce time also lets you get back on the field faster too which is also still an advantage. They have always been "grenadier ver. 2" . You're saying that like it's a bad thing or something new but Call-In Grenadier Ver. 2 and Buildable grenadier Ver. 2. is still grenadier ver. 2. no matter how you slice it. In: COH2 Balance

Why could that be a thing. it's not the Panther and P4 don't have animations for that ability. And it would have been far more thematic for Jaeger Armor than Break Through supplies. Simple reason. They changed elephant so that it couldn't 2 shot medium tanks for balance reasons. HEAT shells would let it do that again which would probably break team games. In: COH2 Balance

(although irrelevant Conscripts are T0 not T1) Only problem with that theory was that the original spirit of the unit was "raw speed and effectiveness to cost ratio" and the unit has almost lost its spirit. Except for the fact that Ostruppen still are cheaper to build and thus arriver faster and are cheaper and faster to reinforce and thus are more effective in terms of cost to field. Just because they aren't as far apart from the Grens as when they were call-ins doesn't mean those advantages still don't exist. In: COH2 Balance

In terms of cost effectiveness they work just as good as they did previously. Oppressive early game pressure isn't the only thing that made them viable...plus they will be getting some minor buffs (probably) in the next patch so they should be more than fine to use. Thread: Can someone please explain how handbrake mode works.27 May 2021, 20:09 PM I was under the impression that handbrake mode just prevented Half Tracks from unwanted rotating. So if you were using a M3 as a clown car it wouldn't rotate to try and fire it's main gun unless told to (which would count as movement and the passengers would be less accurate) In: COH2 Gameplay

Read somewhere that it also depends on Steam - they have to approve the mod or something before it can be updated since it's a Beta or something to that effect. Thread: will there be v4 update of commander patch24 May 2021, 21:23 PM My only concerns are Raid Section, Easy-8, and Ostruppen. We basically never got a real community test of Raid sections with 1 version with the new pseduo-Rifle style and never got to test them with a proper Vet 1 ability. Easy-8 felt find of half-baked and Ostruppen looked kind of OP per Tightrope's test so I would have liked to see at least one more version of those... In: COH2 Balance

Rangers and PGrens are way too valuable to waste their time on repairing duty. Conscript repairs are okay since those are fairly cheap and also 6/7 men, but PGrens and Rangers won't make much sense unless they have a repair rate above their faction's pioneer unit. At least that's my opinion. I agree that it's not great but Heavy Calvary doesn't have a ton of munitions sinks so it wouldn't be bad to just give it to Rangers as another way to spend munis so that you have the flexibility to speed up repairs or for emergency critical removals. With the new damage received bonus for Pershing you'd probably be better able to swing just 1 RE and supplemental ranger repairs (especially if you're going the bazooka route where you're probably having them escort Pershing anyway.) It'll never be ideal use of their time but it'd be something. It would also be a nice little buff to Urban Assault where Calliopes are the same way and require RE repairs. In: COH2 Balance
