This way there would be proper benefit in having two REs on the field if one gets the grenade launcher. However this change implies multiple other changes (less defensive to more offensive layout) that affects the whole commander just to "fix" the Pershing. So not sure overall, just a thought. Another idea would be to give Rangers a "Rudimentary Repair" upgrade option similar to PZ Grens in German Infantry. Thematically this fits since the commander is built around Combined Arms. You could balance it by having it take up a weapon slot so you can't have triple zook rangers than can also repair your Pershing. Though you can't typically support too many rangers in a build so it might not bee too stronk. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Volks mp40 vs stg44 vs no update19 May 2021, 16:22 PM The only upside to MP40s is the access to HE and smoke grenades- if your opponent has shit micro and you can get HE grenade wipes or make good use of smoke then it can be a decent pick. Otherwise I personally find that the damage drop off for MP40s hurts you more than the CQC benefits you gain. But then again if you want HE grenades you can just use Fusies which are 100 times easier to use lol. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Dealing with blobs without Calliope?10 May 2021, 16:10 PM The Calliope Crutch is real. One thing that gets forgotten about is the Major's Decoy Barrage it saves on munitions and you can force panic retreats and/or get somes wipes if they get cocky and you throw in a real offmap. It's extra good with Recon Company since you get it Vet 0 on Pathfinders and the butterfly bombs are easier to wipe with if they call your bluff with the decoy barrage. That being said it's not really a counter so much as a way to play mind games though low skill blobbers usually always panic retreat lol In: US Forces Strategies

If there a need for a downside there should also be one for "fear propaganda" Well the downside is that the Forced Retreat isn't 100%. Most of the time you use it you're hoping to force some retreats - there is still a chance that you'll get bad RNG and just get other effects or no effect. In those cases it's not too hard for your opponent to just ride out the propaganda. The Sturm Officer changes were more a lateral move IMO going from buffing opponents infantry to increased Racc on officer. At least now your opponent has to micro and focus fire your officer to get any benefit instead of just getting a free buff for munitions YOU spent. (In that regard I don't know if Officer really needs a penalty given how expensive the ability is) In: COH2 Balance

Bit mad that shermans can full capture points in ~3 seconds. Same thing has been in Vanguard for Brits since launch and I don't think anyone has ever had a problem with it. And that affects infantry capture too... it's a good buff since late game power of that commander is not great. Not that Raid adds much to late game but better than nothing In: COH2 Balance

Its far too OP as one click abilities go... +1 I've even considered making a thread about this. Playing a fair amount of 2v2s I feel like Overwatch is VERY popular largely because of this ability. It's pretty insane that in the patch now you get an additional Anti Infantry strafe for just 25 munitions more compared to Stuka CAS. The end result is an anti-everything strafe that guarantees map control even with AA because there are so many planes than it's impossible to shoot them all down without at least 1 pass ruining your day. It'd probably be more balanced if it worked like Hold the Line or Sector Artillery/Perimeter Overwatch so you can't use it super offensively to get map control or pin someone in their base due to the size of the area of the ability. Otherwise increase the cost to 275~ In: COH2 Balance

Obviously a live glider shouldn’t be destroyable. From what I’m understanding though, you’re saying the sappers can’t get close enough to the glider to use their demo charge to destroy it. Royals always have had issues planting charges. You have to plant it where they can reach as opposed to a position they cannot. Yeeeeah Destroy Cover is so annoying to use. In theory it could be pretty OP on some maps but you waste so much micro trying to get them clear cover that it feels like a waste. Wish that would be one of those QoL fixes in the next patch. Thread: Regarding the Captain4 May 2021, 18:35 PM I know some people like to leave the Capt on 1 model as just a supervisor to keep down on popcap. I think that's valid in the late game where you might not have the micro to manage one more squad if you have enough infantry already. It's also not bad if you need to side/back tech for AT Guns (he's more useful to supervise than using the new "Transfer Orders" ability to get rid of him.) Otherwise he's probably useful on the field and you can just time a retreat to coincide with supervising a tank build. In: US Forces Strategies

It's a neat ability for players who want to do certain builds or utilize certain map quirks. 2) Doesn't the MOP already have better flares (I thought it was the same as Spec Ops flares). It might be cool if Vet 2 or 3 increased the flare range so you have more of a reason to utilize shared Vet. In: COH2 Balance
