The OKW Panzer IV does not get any more armour with Vet, but it's other bonuses are exceptional. Both the OKW P4's bulletins and vet were designed with the assumption that it was bad, but that is no longer true.
it never was bad but it was in a bad doctrine. basically the okw p4 has vet 2 armour bonus from the start then ad the armour bulletins and you get a p4 with panther armour.
This makes it the bane of the regular stock medium armour |

I got the feeling that the OP is trying to play the brits as an offensive faction and of course its going to fail. the problem with the IS and bren carriers are non existent because you are supposed to use the vickers. use that and a defensive strat and you will get quite far. Neither axis factions have any good answer to the vickers early game safe for flanking.

Oh there are plenty of ways. You just have to use that thing on top of your shoulders and you might come up with something useful.
I suspect that thing on top of your shoulders is sadly empty. technically only tanks can destroy an emplacement besides flame-throwers and it still takes some time. |
Fuck immersion and i dont want to see them on sp's because the okw is really lacking in good ways to clear buildings at the moment. anyway the current nade is shit anyway and nobody in their right minds used them. |

I myself am 1vs1 player ,and sometimes 2vs 2 player, but as i see it the panther is steadily becoming obsolete. both the jackson and the firefly easily penetrate its armour .Combine this with its rather lackluster dps and its no wonder people are switching to the jp4 and stug. 2 stugs which cost about the same as 1 panther can take down a medium tank under 5 seconds. a panther needs more then 20 seconds. |
Yep. Definitley. Volks look like basic german frontline dudes. They, out of all the units, should have the very recognizeable and WWII-typical regular 'Stielhandgrenade'. Plus, the incendiary one suits the aggressive spirit of the Sturmpioneers (voice acting) way better!
Basically, it feels really weird to see Volks like that and takes away a bit of the typical ww2 feel when german basic infantry is throwing incendiaries all the time.
Also, it is weird from a gameplay-design perspective, also: They get sth that is (probablly) similar to soviet molotovs. Yet, soviets have to pay for an upgrade and Volks are even cheaper than Cons. I would imagine it could become quite annoying when the new Volks Incendiary is being spammed. It would just be too much incendiary to feel right.
Plus, it would provide a bit more incentive to go Sturmpios early-game if they had that extra anti-garrison capability. This again would encourage more varied OKW starting builds.
They should rethink that change!
I think you need to play with the okw more and realise what a pain in the ass it is to play in a map with a lot of buildings with no way of clearing them. even if the vg throws the IG further and faster then how the soviet conscript throws the molotovs, it doesnt change the fact thatthe soviets have so many more options in removing units from garrison. and forcing the okw to spam sp's is really a bad idea. |
Something you guys may be overlooking is that, because the HP is so high, it takes a long time to repair these tanks. A bad engagement will mean the tank will be out of action for a long time, even if you didn't destroy it.
Considering that they come from the anvil path which makes the RE's even faster then sp's when it comes to repairing tanks this is really not a good argument. that said its to early to see if its unbalanced. |
Hmmm, It's actually really good when used properly. It requires more micro sure and seeing that the allies have most of the micro intensive units, I don't see how it should be a problem for the Axis players to micro their werfers. So I do not understand why, because the soviets have the better rocket arty, the werfer should be on par? I mean: the whole ideas of the factions are to be different, both in play style and strengths and weaknesses. If you compare the factions, Ostheer compared to SU have better mortars, mgs, standard infantry, tanks, and AT options. Where the SU have better light vehicles and better arty. I could see it's price being reduced, but not it's effectiveness increased. make the price like 250mp 75 fuel, it'd be fine. Last time I used it, it won me and my buddy the game.
Their is a major difference between faction variance and being useless. This unit is useless. its nothing more frustrating then seeing 2 panzerwerfers scoring zero kills in 3 barrages in a AT line while the a mt-ht manages to get 40 kills in or my lefh get 80 kills in and destroys kats su76's and even isu152's |
