the volks with the stg44 is fine. they are a bit weaker than single bar rifleman and price as such.
and the okw should be building their own vehicle instead of relying on schreck spam and raketen. They already have two of the best light vehicle in the game.
That is a massive balance problem right their. If they are not capable of holding their own against rifles/is/penals you have units that are death weight mid game. best solution is to improve their veterancy (which at the moment is just very weak compared to to the other mainline infantry) and increase the volks mp44's to 3 with a 90 ammo cost.
Also the OKW vehicles are just shit. the puma ? overpriced piece of shit compared to the aec or m10.
and dont even get em started on the okw flaktrack that is not capable of moving has less damage then the usf track and cost slightly more. And you know that just as well as i do. |
Did they change Puma recently? Last time I checked it was able to fight of medium vehicles with ease turning in to a monster after few vet levels.

Other than having no snipers,
Sturmpio - Better MP44 pios with shrecks! (more expensive very cost ineffective AT)
Volks - 5 men Gren with Mp44 upgrade (1 is cc another long range)
MG - Stock MG34 with MG42 call in option (so the ost does have the advantage here)
Mortar - ISG, longer range, better cancer busting ( the only leigh do better is emplacement busting . ost mortar is superior for the rest)
PG - Obers/Fusiliers/Falls...take your pick (pg's are cheaper then obers or falls and dont cost ammo to be effective)
Raketen - Pak with Cloak that can retreat and garrison (FFS dude)
Light vehicles:
Luch, Puma, Flak HT vs 222, take your pick. ( i take the 222 . when it comes to anti lv the 222 is a awesome cost effective unit.)
Stuka - better, earlier than peewerfer (very needed considering the lack of decent non fuel arty)
Staying power:
Medic, Forward Retreat, Repair HQ, Flak HQ vs bunker, take your pick. ( no love the ost track?)
Tanks:
Pz IV - better armored Pz IV ( expensive )
Panther - better vet (expensive)
JP IV - completely outrange and outclass StuG ( Much more expensive stug is the better buy)
JT - better range elefant ( expensive also doesn't get stun locked the elephant doctrine that matters come with scopes)
KT - better tiger ( nope speed is better for heavies)
For the record the OKW has the better powerhouse units and raw stats on their side. The ostheer is generally cheaper and more mobile. |
Well, I don't think, that it would be better to find in SU T0 Maxims instead of Cons, lol.
And you said yourself - Cons will always lose to grens becuase of poor firepower. Why can't it be fixed with same unlockable in T3/T4 soviet weapon upgrade? It may be DPs, it may be MT LMGs, it may be PTRS, SVT rifles...
Both factions wins here - Ostheer heals poor grens survivability and makes squad death rare, SU heals poor Cons dealing damage and making them real mainlines with good possibilites to fight in late effectively. What's wrong with that? Why we should buff ONLY Grens, ignoring Cons?
Poor faction design . anyway the soviets have been relying on elite callin infantry for ages now. But i think the issue will be resolved when the penals get their buff. it will make the penals the mainline while the scripts are going to be support.
I will be watching this situation closely.

If penals will be real SU mainline - then they should be in T0 and be affected of grenade upgrades.
It is argument, cos again - you can't buff one not bad already mainline infantry without buffing another mainline infantry, which is in way worse shape right now. That will be 1 way upgrade, but both vanilla factions mainlines should be fixed, they both have problems. Grens have poor survivability, Cons - poor firepower. If you fix first - fix second then. Otherwise you ruin balance.
Well i will remind you that grens cannot be build in tier 0 either. But if you are worried about early game infantry balance the move the + 1 man upgrade to the ostheer tier 3. At that point scripts will always lose to grens anyway because of weapon upgrades unless they received ppsh upgrades themselves.

with the penal buff and the fact you can backtech to tier 2 you will see a lot more m3's running around.

Now:
- Grens get 5 man squad

Well ignoring that volks are mid sort range powerhouses and grens with lmg's are way better long range sometimes its not a bad thing that 2 units are look alike. |
I don't talk about "NCO buff will make grens more deadly". I said - grenadeers are deadly enough right now, there is no problem with that. But, their power compensated with their fragileness, they actually work like glasscannon units, like M36.
You suggest to remove from them their weak side by upgrade because "they underperform in late and die fast". And I agree with that totally! But there is another mainline squad, which is also underperform in late, but not because die fast - because it can't deal enough damage.
So, I say you again - I agree with idea of increasing grensquads, but - if we making all mainline infantry squads "without weakpoints", then Conscripts deserve to have firepower upgrades, that's all. If we will only buff grens, make them good, then Cons will be only mainline infantry in game, which is underperforming hard, and grens will perform pretty much like Tommyboys.
I don't have anything against your idea, I only ask you to be fair and objective in that. Cons and Grens right now are more or less balanced as mainline infantry. One have power, other - HP. Buff one - buff another for to save it.
I do like to remind you that with the penals buff they are more then likely going to be the new mainline infantry for the SU. Aslo until now the SU has always relied on callins or pphs upgrades.
