What I meant by that is that paratroopers aren't as versatile as rifles and the fact that you have to go for a commander that for the most part is pretty bad (P47 ability is the only worth while one) means that you suffer a lot mid game from it. The infantry itself stats wise isn't bad, it's actually pretty good, but they don't offer nearly as much combat options as the rifles do and since rifles got buffed recently for me there's no reason to choose them over them.
Thank you for your answer. Now I understand what you mean. I agree that the paratrooper commander isn't that good compared to some other commanders, but I like the P-47 strike, especially in team games with lots of enemy tigers and panthers. I also like the paratroopers because I can kill enemy infantry in close combat with their effective SMGs, and that they are not so expensive for a 6 man squad.
