I wholeheartedly agree with this plan. However, as some have mentioned, punishing early leavers might be too much. After all, I sometimes leave because a kid is out of bed, etc....
If they would give a 5 or 10 minute penalty "in search" for droppers, then it would not have any impact to you if you must leave the game because your kid is out of bed, or if someone must go to the toilet, etc. That would only punish them who leave because they think their teammates are noobs and who search a new game directly after they left the old game. |
Actually they would with HE round. Most of late tank destroyers are equipped with HE round to serve as role of assault gun whenever needed.
But if we take what you said in consideration, then the alternatives would be that the tank destroyers would either shoot with High Explosive or Armor-Piercing rounds, and not if the tank destroyer shoots at both infantry and vehicles, or only at vehicles. Then the HE rounds would not make damage to tanks, and AP rounds would not do damage to infantry. |
I think they would never in real life fire on troops on the ground with the main cannon, only on units in bunkers and buildings with the purpose to destroy the building. It would be a waste of ammunition to shoot on troops on the ground. But their MGs would fire on the troops.
Of course it is possible in this game too shoot on infantry with the main gun, but they should miss the infantry almost every time, because of the accuracy is extremely bad.
But in this game, I try to avoid using tank destroyers against infantry, because that would reveal their position to the opponent. |
But I would never try to use a bazooka against infantry, because I would never hit them. This could be changed in the game. |
Bazookas and Panzerschrecks -> 0 accuracy at long range
Let me explain what this means. This means that bazookas and panzerschrecks can no longer lock onto your armor at max range, guaranteeing a hit. You can now dodge rockets that have been fired by moving away from their projected path. Bazookas and Panzerschrecks will now be ambush and support weapons, instead of self-sufficient AT weapons like AT guns.
It is very easy to use a bazooka. If I can hit at a vehicle from long range with a bazooka in real life, and I am only a civilian (but I have done my military service in Finland), then what about veteran WW2 soldiers? |
The Schrecks and bazookas should not do any damage to infantry (only to vehicles and tanks), because it is almost impossible to hit one soldier with it in real life. Then maybe people start to use other tactics than blobbing. |
So we can have MG spam...
It is easy to kill MGs, at least easier than killing blobs. And it would be more realistic. |
Stormtroopers are a completely different unit, they don't even use the same model or voices.
Yes, they are different units, but they depict the SS-units in Eastern Front, and the Obersoldaten in Western Front. At least their uniforms tells us this. |
They don't even get the Panzergrenadier variant? Man, Stormtroopers just seem so meh. Certainly not a worthy replacement of Troop Training, I think I would have preferred Jägers or Obers before Stormtroopers.
Isn't the stormtroopers the same thing as Obersoldaten, that is SS-units, but expressed in political correct terms. Therefore they could implement almost same stats to both units. |
I think a good way to stop spamming and blobbing is to implement the unit limit system.
Better alternative would be that the MGs do more damage, just as they do in real life. |
