The biggest problem for me when I play USF (1vs1-4vs4) is when the Germans come with their tanks. I can deal with one or two Panzer 4s, but when they come with several medium tanks and a heavy tank, then it is game over for me, because they just run over all riflemen and rear echelons and AT-guns. It is even possible to control the map and deny resources for the Ostheer player in an 1vs1-game and push the enemy into his base, but when the Ostheer player gets his first Pz. 4 and come for example with a Tiger Ace, then the USF-player have serious difficulties. If someone have suggestions how to deal with that, I will listen to and learn from that person.
But the bazookas could make more damage. I don't know how many times you must shoot with a bazooka against a Tiger to kill that tank. |
Relic could make more money with country specific commanders, so that people from these countries will buy them. For example you can easily put the Finns or Hungarians in Ostheer, or in a new Axis faction with Africa Corps, Mountain Troops, Italians, Rumanians and other minor factions... And put the Belgians, the Poles and the French in an allied army. You can even put the Swedes in the game, because Swedish troops fought with the Finns against Stalin. |
I like to use Penal Battalion squads to blow up buildings with troops inside (for example MG-42), or to use several penals with flamethrowers against blobs of panzergrenadiers or volksgrenadiers with schrecks, or to blow up OKW trucks or Ostheer caches. |
Finnish Combat Patrol Commander ("Kaukopartio"):
(1) 0 CP - Finnish "Sisu" (infantry can survive in blizzards and be better in combat)
(2) 1 CP - Finnish Combat Patrol Squad equipped with Suomi KP/-31 Submachine Guns. They can throw grenades and molotovs and satchel charges, trip wire flares, and place mines and demolition charges, cut barbed wire, and shoot Panzerfausts and flares, and they can sprint.
(3) 3 CP - Munitions drop. Works like the "redistribute resources" as in CAS-commander, but the patrol must capture it, or lose the resources to the enemy.
(4) 4 CP - Combat Patrol Tactics - Camouflage and a sniper rifle to the Combat Patrol Squad.
(5) 5 CP - Spotting Scopes upgrade available for the infantry.

(1) 0 CP - Finnish fortifications (enables building of casemates and trenches)
(2) 2 CP - Anti-tank Weapons - Gives ability to shoot a Panzerfaust ("Panssarinyrkki") for all infantry and enables Panzerschrecks ("Panssarikauhu") upgrade for all infantry.
(3) 7 CP - Lagus Armoured Division (Calls in a random Finnish tank: can be a KV-1, T-34/76, T-34/85 or a StuG)

My list of irritating things in automatches:
1) Players that drop from the game
2) Inactive players
3) Teammates that kill your troops and destroy your base
4) Hurtful words
The first two is more irritating, because it happens too often. But I have also met some players that I can say are real scumbags. They say bad things and sometimes also destroy your base. |
Tiger Ace is ok for me, if it would cost some fuel (at least as the same as Pz. 4). Now when I try to hinder the Ostheer get the fuel for their tanks (Pz. 4-6) and sometimes succeeds with that, then the other player can call in and use the Tiger Ace against me for only the manpower cost, even if they can't afford a single medium tank. For example, I saw in the replay when I played with USF against Ostheer, that the other player did not even have fuel for a single Pz. 4 (that game lasted 36 minutes and he had only 128 fuel in the end of the game), but he could get a Tiger Ace and almost destroyed my forces with it. He would have destroyed me if he had got first a Pz .4 and then the Tiger Ace. |
My suggestions for US Forces:
(a) Make LT cheaper, so that people use both LT and CPT. For example 30 fuel for LT.
(b) Make smoke and granades cheaper to use.
(c) Make their bazookas better and cheaper.
(d) Give them a mortar.
My suggestion for making all infantry better is:
(e) Let the tanks carry infantry (as seen in the movies), so that the infantry can come back faster to the combat from their homebase. |
