I agree with PaRaNo1a that the 4 man squad is part of the problem for the Brits, if the other player goes for the Ostheer sniper (and grenadier spam). Because of that I usually make the upgrade as soon as possible to avoid squad wipes. I have figured out that the Brits suffer less in manpower bleed in early game, if I first build 2 MGs, and then make the upgrade, and after that build the second Tommy, so that I get a five man squad of Tommys. But I don't know if this is good, because the Axis players can already in that point have too much troops on the map, so that is difficult to counter that. |
Puppetmaster, if you read my two messages correctly you will understand the point. In my first message that you refer to, I wrote: "The problem is to survive to that point." That means that I mean that the early game is the problem for the Brits, but in the late game they can use sappers with brens (instead of tommys with brens), and solve part of the problem with manpower bleed. |
Puppetmaster, my opinion is that the Brits can't survive to the late game (in 4vs4) if the enemy knows what they do. Brits early game is so weak, because their infantry is too weak and expensive. They can't beat the Ostheer sniper, grenadier spam or early vehicles. And the Ostheer mortar halftrack wipes out complete squads. |
You can overcome the manpower bleed by spamming sappers with brens, after you tech up. The problem is to survive to that point. The Spearhead doctrine with mortar halftracks and grenadier spam is pure cancer to the Brits, because that will wipe out troops and emplacements. |
I played a game today against a player who used mortar halftracks. I spread out my Tommys and Sappers with brens. That halftrack squad wiped at least 5 squads with single shots. In real life that would be impossible, at least in the Finnish army, because the infantry would spread out in a wider area, so that a squad wipe would not be possible. |

MoerserKarL, do not use extensive firepower (which the brace can take), use only fire, and the Bofors will vanish from the map. |

And you can also destroy the mortar emplacement in few seconds with a MG-42. |

I take everything back. It is easy to destroy Bofors even in its current state, if you know what you do. And if you don't know, you can always prevent it built in a strategic position by spamming grenadiers, so that you can then go around it. |

The most difficult thing with Bofors is even to manage to build it. If the other players build first one sniper and then spam with grenadiers, it is extremely difficult to build a Bofors in a strategic position. If the cooldown time for the Bofors would be too long, and thus be very easy to destroy, then the Bofors would be a complete unnecessary unit in the game. |

Even 5-10 seconds more cooldown time to the brace would make the Bofors very easy to destroy. Just wait with the mortar barrage or incendiary mortar barrage or the Stuka bombing strike until you know that it will kill it. |
