Just make it like the King Tiger's gun, that gun works well enough.
The rage that would ensue would cause some heart attacks... |
Nice troll commander, but beware the more troll it is the more probable Relic will include it in a game Kappa
Case in point, Tank Hunter Tactics until the last patch. |
Move over Obers, because hip-firing MG34s is so last season |
Thing is, i recently tried the OKW AA, that thing got vet 3 by just standing around and immediately as the planes closed in it shoot down the P-47´s! If the allied AA´s would work the same, planes wouldnt be so Overpowered
On a related note, the Soviet HT's AA upgrade is completely fucking useless at AA.
Ok, not literally. But it'll be shooting down planes on a blue moon. |
Because the PIV has a shorter reload which makes every missed shot seem less important. The IS and Tiger have almost exactly the same scatter to and everyone complains the IS2 is inaccurate, but that's because it has a lower ROF so every missed shot seems worse.
Maaaaayyybbbbe it's just both? Shoots less often, miss more, compounded into being far worse in practice?
...not to claim redonkulous one-shots aren't still happening...
Early game? No.
When Panthers and King Tigers are running amok with Pak43 and Elefants and basically the best tank killing tanks in the game?
That's when T-34/76 should be disposable.
Well, they were. Then they fortunately realized it was dumb and correspondingly nerfed Ram and cost, and upped AT performance.
Unfortunately the former two changes were much more than the latter one... |
PTRS always hit team weapon before the changes as well.
Difference is, it was nearly extinct weapon as the only target it could engage was light vehicles, which had plenty of time to move to other side of the map before being destroyed.
Yeah, you're right, looking at some older videos. |
IS-2 is fine now, it doesnt need to get changed, when it had 9-10 second reload, it basically hit infantry with every shot (due to low scatter), usually wiping them with 1 shot, so you could shoot & scoot and protect it vs enemy armor with ZIZ AT guns
And if it goes anywhere near that performance in this squad-bunching age, anything on legs it looks at will be dead without exception. |
It 1 shots if it's able to hit its target. But that's a rare phenomenon. I don't care if there's a difference of 1.4 or 1.4*10^9, the Tiger will hit infantry far more often than the IS-2.
Scatter distance is how far the shot may go in front or behind of the target while scatter angle is a cone in degrees coming from the weapon that the shot may go on from the sides. So I guess that's probably why the IS-2 is so much more inaccurate against infantry with just 1.4 more scatter distance - big scatter angle makes every little bit of scatter distance change a lot of difference in practice. |
Well, let me explain how tank hits work. Tanks have a scatter value, which affects how far away the shot can actually miss. Their accuracy is pretty pathetic, something like 5% , which means that a tank will only directly hit an infantry unit 5% of the time. Yet they end up hitting infantry alot more, since tanks have a large AOE, they end up doing damage to infantry even if the gun "rolled a miss" due to the shot scattering close to the infantry unit.
Same with the PTRS guns, they dont work as small arms in the game, which means that if they miss the crew, the shot will hit something else instead, maybe a piece of cover, a house, another crew member , or sometimes a support weapon.
This also means that the PTRS performs higher than it's DPS stats show, because scattering shots can still hit infantry units sometimes.
Actually, yeah, that makes perfect sense. The target size of the heavy weapons are pretty big (20), so I think that would cause missed PTRS shots to frequently hit the weapon. |
It is really difficult to add a new Axis faction that did not survive until 1944 or 1945. It would be difficult to make it competitive because there are Jacksons and IS2s in the game.
i think it is also a poor decision to split multiplayer into "early-war and late-war" since the playerbase is already so small. it would take ages to find matches.
I'm pretty sure they also said they have no intention to split the playerbase like that (of course that was said when we just started having east meet west), so I'd doubt they'd change their minds about that. |
