do you want at weapons on 240 mp infantry with snare sprint and ridikulus vet survivability ? because this is how you get them. giving cons ptrs as core feature wouldnt be good idea
The thing is, before penals with ppshs were criticized for having same role as shocks and now with ptrs's they have the same role as guards and ptrs cons. I'm still for giving T1 M-42. |
Some more suggestions that I'd love to see added to the game, but that most probably won't happen
Music played during the game shouldn't be tied to the map but rather to the faction played. If Wehrmacht fighting on the western front with Soviet music and OKW fighting the Soviets with western music is odd, this change could be implemented in such a way that as axis, music played is the one the opponent has (Wehrmacht vs US plays US music for both sides)
Flags above the strategic points are red and blue and should be historic (semihistoric for axis) instead like in coh1 |
Will there be anything done with the Greyhound? It's pretty useless in it's current state and since the team is addressing light vehicles something should be done with it, same with WC truck |
Ostruppen could use the Tommy cover bonus indicator instead of the rotating aim icon above the unit.
Penals should have the 'To the last man' passive ability in the unit's ability grid (in the right bottom corner) for consistency.
All units that can be camouflaged should have same passive ability as commandos for consistency.
Many commander abilities could use proper icon (like Wehrmacht Artillery Officer or KV-8) |
Or instead of weird solution with PTRS we can put M-42 in T1, becasue why not?
A bit of combined arms and tactic instead of spamming Penals with panic-ptrs.
It would just require changing 1 ability in 2 doctrines from Relic.
I also love this idea unlike M-42 in T2 and ZiS-3 in T3 like in campaign. I wonder if Mr. Smith & co. will consider this. |

I really wish relic could allow reverting Soviet infantry to its early design state. All doctrines are either NKVD, Shock, or Guard armies and so grant either penals, shock troops (who would need to buy ppshs once more) or guards (who'd need to buy ptrs or dp28) in T1. This way no penals+guard cheese, and doctrines (kind of?) revived. |
While we're at light vehicles, why does the M3A1 cost 15 fuel? It has a little better dps than kubel or bren and will win against kubel 1v1 but 15 fuel is a little too much for me. If I was in charge I would nerf it and remove fuel cost. Will this be addressed in any way? |
This is an excellent idea.
However, in order for this to work, we need to be able to actually add an UI icon to the game. I personally don't know how to do this, but I would be happy to include the fix if somebody does.
I'm not familiar with modding of this game, can't 'For Mother Russia' commander ability icon be used? Or are assets tied to their units and abilities? |
So, can you please add a UI indication for the bonus from 1 vet for Penals?
You makw something like this for Commando, but forget about Penal.
There is no way to check, what "To the Last man" ability doing in the game.
Commando duration has a limited duration, and the passive sprint can sometimes work against you (since Commandos can't fire while sprinting).
To the last man is active all the time, passively. The only visual indication that you need for it is the number of models alive, and you already have it.
Since I've been slightly bothered by this myself I think I should explain his thought; the thing is about British Commandos having a unclickable (thus, 'passive') ability in their bottom-right ability slot ('V' button with grid keys) that informs the player that the commandos will cloak in cover. The same is about British tiers; there are unclickable buttons in them presenting Mortar Pit and the pounder emplacement to the player as integral parts of British unit roster. The quoted poster's idea was to add similar unclickable ability to penals' 'V' ability slot (maybe with the conscripts zeal/for mother russia icon) describing the ability to the player, not with exact values (2% for each etc.) but with general idea of it. Hope you will think about implementing this. |
