>Implying training matters at all in the age of machine guns and flamethrowers, which were both hilariously easy to use
which is why in Somalia the warlord faction soldiers were able to kill almost as many US soldiers as they lost since they had AK47 automatics and truck mounted HMGs....
Training always matters, it isn't as critical compared to Middle Ages when you needed years to properly wield weapons/armor/charger/etc but it isn't at all irrelevant. |
Well please explain the axis late game win ratio then.
I would argue that isn't only that way in USF vs Axis due to weaker late game in USF, however just like in vCOH Wehr/USA matchup the Wehr had a clear, demonstrable advantage in late games in that their veteran I only to greater and all new units were elite off the bat. USA had to preserve vet units |
strictly linear tech is not good imo.
So true, it's why I hated Brits but liked PE. You could go so many directions with PE teching as units, but Brits were hamstrung by fixed tech. |
An interesting idea, but the Puma coming out so early would kill all early game allied vehicles. The impression I get is that it'd come in roughly the same time as an M20 or M15... that's not good because the Puma kills those two handily whilst the OKW player must make a bad mistake to lose his Puma... so I don't support it. Despite my misgivings about OKW, I feel this idea is the wrong way to go about it, personally I think certain units in the line up need to nerfed a little (Obers most obviously) and perhaps the KT needs to be more difficult to get... Teching in this case isn't needed.
I don't think it makes them obsolete so long as you are screening your advances with infantry and are careful not to rush in too fast with them. Puma's are quite fragile. |
relic says, that they dont stack, but some do and you can test it(schreck price, mine price,...).
some others dont stack or dont even work....
its a mess
That is a mess. So what about something that isn't, such as grenadier/conscript 3% accuracy? Because if I can stack that, them I'm going to |
Have u ever tried playing usf?
Please tell me, What else is usf suppost to make?
That's the problem IMHO, they are forced to be very linear with their strategy due to faction design. Just like Brits in vCOH, you have a base building that only produces infantry, light vehicle and tech officer which means there is almost no room for build variation f you want to be competitive at highest levels |
And then of course the heaviest tanks of all KT/Jagdtiger were only able to be called once and if they were destroyed that was it. |
No, it would FORCE combined arms and that is bad. I'm not arguing that the ISU or jagdtiger is totally fine as it is, that would be absurd. I'm simply suggesting that limiting the amount of them that can be called in doesn't really solve anything as far as diversifying the metagame. It doesn't change the fact that they're overpowered either.
So I think they need to have their performance adjusted such that calling them in even multiple times is viable in the right situations but not overpowered.
This is a serious question and I'm not being flippant, did you feel the same about the Wehr Tiger/USA Pershing in vCOH where only one could be called out at a time? I thought it was a smart way to go because it meant you had to treat those babies as the rare commodities they were while still allowing players to get super heavies that were great than all other tanks just like in real life.
A lot of people complain about call ins but I think they add so much flavor to the game and it's a welcome addition. That being said I do think more teching needs to be required to prevent minimal tech investing players to stall for call in tanks. |
You're doing it wrong.
so what could we have done differently?
we would often push off everything but mortars and zis...they would either retreat or just wait for reinforcements to relieve them as mortar rounds dropped all around us...i'm guessing maybe I should have built even more grens and just focus fired 1 mortar at at time.
the other player just sent waves of penals with flames which became quite a problem also. |
Didn't you know? The best thinking is done on the toilet!
Nice explanation nigo of the Arty Officer, going to have to try some Ost + Off builds now.
Would you suggest this for 2v2 and up or maybe a 1v1 version could work?
Doesn't the festung support have relief inf, arty officer and mortar HT all together? That could be great for utilizing the arty officer plus you get to bring in relief troops by popping the ability at beginning of big skirmish. |
