The problem, at least in my opinion, isn't even necessarily that BARs are bad. It's that the USF seems to be designed saying " Hey you! See these Riflemen? Shove 300 manpower/40 fuel and then 120 munitions per squad into them and they'll be strong enough to fight infantry battles the whole game." This just doesn't play out. Even with grenades and double BARs rifles just can't seem to compete with LMG Grens/PGrens/Obers/Falls. If you want to fight Axis elites you need Paratroopers (which you also have to shove munitions into).
I actually prefer not to disembark and risk losing my crew just to repair, not when I have a place to retreat and have RETs for that job.
Unless you're trying to repair on the front lines, this shouldn't be a problem. Relying on RE to repair is eliminating one of the strengths of USF, higher vehicle up time (and not having to waste pop cap on relatively combat ineffective builder units)
Love this commander, though I find it works best on Minsk pocket. haven't lost one battle on Minsk Pocket using it.
Minsk Pocket doesn't have particularly harsh cut offs or many buildings. Good on you for winning, but there are way better maps for this doctrine than Minsk Pocket.
Also SC2 casts despite the fact I don't play the game; for some reason, despite the fact I don't understand the game mechanics at all because iv'e never played SC2, the casters just make it amazingly enjoyable.
SC2 casters get so hyped up about every game.
Probably doesn't hurt that most SC2 casts I watch are from live events, where the audience is also getting super excited.
I just don't think the survivability nerf really affects OKW vs Soviet balance, since conscripts aren't that useful in that matchup that much. Or at least, I haven't really noticed a lot of them.
That's the problem. The "core" infantry unit of a faction shouldn't be useless in a match up.
Doing that would make the Kubelwagen more vulnerable to flank attacks, and highly vulnerable to AT Guns (one hit would kill it).
The problem is Kubel has a tiny target size (for a vehicle). AT guns only have about a 30% chance of hitting it at long range. I don't think that it should get insta-sniped by an AT gun, but a small target size increase would help both AT guns and infantry anti-tank weapons to actually hit the thing.
