Extra AOE suppression on a muni ability would be nice.
Button would be amusing, but soviets already have hella snares. |
While we're dreaming, my thought for cons was to have a global like the OKW's King Tiger, that just calls in a squad of cons for (whatever amount, idk) of fuel. That way, in the late game, the Soviets could keep up pressure with their infantry, despite being at popcap - assuming they could preserve their vehicles. I'd probably lock it behind tier 3 or 4. They'd still be meatshields, but they'd be easier to come by assuming you had any map control. |
Scratch the canister round then, wasn't my idea anyhow.
Wikipedia article for the M42 says it had canister. |
I'd totally love the little AT gun in tier 1, for a few reasons.
- It would actually appear in games, instead of being in unused commanders.
- Said unused commanders could get something else, to make them less meh.*
- It encourages combined arms instead of spam. Seriously, PTRS penals sound like soviet panzergrens.
- (If they gave it decent anti-infantry) that would actually be realistic. It's usefulness against infantry and light vehicles was why they kept the 45 around the whole war. Relic is honestly truer to the source material for their space-fantasy game series than friggin' WWII.
*then we could argue for weeks over what those things should be! |
Light jaegers are just weirdly good. Falls are costed around the fact that they include a free MG whipe if you're playing on a map with buildings.
I realise light jaegers are too. So the real question is: "why in the hell are light jaegers so cheap?" |
Flak HT needs a sliver more health so that AT guns don't 2 shot it, and a smaller target size. That way you can still force it off easy with an AT gun, but it doesn't become 100% useless the second AT hits the field. Smaller target size makes infantry AT less effective against it*. Currently it has target size 20. The puma, for comparison, has target size 18.
A tiny bit of penetration on the gun wouldn't hurt. It's kinda weird to see it just bounce off of Stuarts, but that's not it's role anyways.
*If you're suppressing them, my maths say AT rifles never miss when not suppressed, even if you drop target size to 18. Bazookas and panzershrecks would be a wee bit less accurate though. |
Mortars/ISG/Pack Howie (not big howitzers or brummbar equivalents) should maybe get the thing where they kill a max of 2 dudes at a time, like mines are supposed to now. I say supposed to, because i haven't tested it and you can't actually trust Relic to implement a change from their changelog. Because nothing sucks worse than that "I hate you" letter from RNGesus falling from the sky.
Maybe not the pack howie, since leaving it the way it is would differentiate it from the 'Mericamortar. |
I'm going to keep playing this game because it's the only one of it's kind and i've already bought the damn thing. If someone else makes a CoH clone i'll buy it in a heartbeat. I'm not buying DoWIII unless the steam user reviews are "overwhelmingly positive", and when I read them it turns out the gameplay is good and it's not just a bunch of 40k lovers (tho i am one..). |
Relic's history has always been weak. For God's sake WFA on release was a version of the Battle of the Bulge in which the German was incentivized to turtle until he could bring his superior resources to bear!
I laughed when they released faction comparisons that listed OKW as "most offensive". Yeah the guys who have FHQ in tier 2, (formerly) had a tech building as a pseudo observation post, have a defensive structure for the end of their tech tree, and have gimmicky barbed wire. Yeah those guys are offensive. Sure.... |
Mine hasn't been firing barrages. It just sits there doing nothing half the time. |
