Hello comrades. I've been using mines and demo charges a lot to lay traps by dropped weapons, such as PIATs, and unmanned weapons, such as Maxims. Since I usually have better stuff than the enemy, should I either take the weapons and retreat or mine the weapons and such and keep turning them into traps? A decent opponent will fall for it once, then probably never again. Grabbing any kind of weapon is usually never a bad idea, and will deny the weapon more properly, while boosting your own squads significantly (though do keep your own reinforcement costs in mind, and what the purpose of the grabbing squad is). Later on just destroy team weapons via attack move, or start booby trapping - things like this tend to be overlooked more often in the heat of a battle / if you stress your enemy / if there's a lot of stuff around. Another question. Alienware belongs to Dell, so there's that. http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-15-r2/pd?ref=PD_OC Is there any reason why you have to buy via your school's IT department? |

Save up the MP if you think it will be useful (it's a nice unit, but not always the best choice). Keep a look at your manpower income counter, which is usually around 200'ish before you reach the CP to unlock it. So start saving up a few minutes before. Best position? Depends on the map, but as save as possible. Example: on maps like Semois Winter you kinda want to reach the ice in front of the enemies base at least, preferably their HQ as well. Luckily you can just place it right outside of your own base. Attack soft targets that are most likely to get wiped (MGs, AT guns, mortars, blobbed infantry), or wait for an enemy to retreat infantry forces and fire on their retreat point / HQ. Volks are cheap cannon fodder and bad at fighting infantry, IS are not - the latter also basically gains more DPS in cover. Get a Kubel as first unit, supress the IS, clean up with SPios - those got decent DPS vs infantry at least. The Kubel is there to give you a grasp on map control, don't use it like a stationary MG. UCs are no real threat in team games. Then advance to the current ISG meta, or get some callin infantry to supplement your forces. You can also try my approach of just plainly outspamming, flanking and capping them - not recommended though. Keep in mind it's a team game. See above, being near your mate - work together, time tech ups. Sometimes stalling is the best thing you can do, especially on Axis side. In: Strategy Desk |

Quite simply: it depends. But for a rule of thumb on the lower and mediocre ranks with random mates: draw battle lines, don't split too far apart. In team games you may face more than one enemy at any given point, so spreading too thin usually ends up in a lot of bad fights. It's also a bit more exhausting, so sticking together a bit is usually a more chill approach. As a start it's rather recommended to get your "natural" (the fuel / ammo points on your side of the map), then work from there. In a nutshell, if you play a more mobile faction, you should be more agressive on the flanks, with a more defensive one, you try to bottleneck more - to keep stuff contained. In: Strategy Desk |

Quite simply: i can't recommend anyone to build a gaming PC from scratch for 500€. You gonna have to make too many cutbacks, and basically rebuild nearly everything pretty soon. And for a game like COH2 you won't get any components that can run it decently. What you can do: Plan A: look for used Haswell Xeon / i7 PCs - they're around your budget, but decent ones are also rare for now. Preferably something with a GPU like 770, 780, or in best case 970 (or AMD equivalent). Plan B: build one from scratch, but then you kinda have to add 150-200€ at least. |

So, which budget area are we talking about? Very decent Skylake system would be around ~1300-1500€, Haswell for ~1000. Of course you can get a Skylake system for a similar amount, but i would certainly stay away from these low end Skylake builds - new isn't always better. |
