Honestly I would be fine with slight changes to Volks such as removing their access to sandbags(same with Tommies) and maybe requiring a truck to be built in order to throw incendiary grenades but in change allowing them to build the MG-34 right away. It's not necessarily a bad machinegun but it just doesn't really work when going for Volks spam is more efficient overall.
Yes because Sturm as a starting unit able to harass cutoff a minute one is not enough, having it followed by a Hmg is what the game needs. |
???
Update your game maybe. Pz4 fire faster than the Jackson and both need 4 shots to be down. We're not in front of a sherman / panther situation where you seriously need some luck to win with your sherman. |
Counter play already exists. They are on foot. pfaust, mines, shreck in combination with a whatever tank you have since any single tank with at perf in this game can win vs the Jackson. |
OST is basically designed around team weapons and static infantry, though:
MG42 - Core unit, Needs to be stationary to fire
USF is basically designed around moving units, should we nerf the Mg42 because it counters it? |
MOBILE DEDICATED AT UNIT
wording is not bad he said dedicated and anyway zook exist
I would have worded differently if Sherman at shells were reliable to pen anything heavier than the ostwind. If you look it faction wise, Jackson may be your only at source the player get until he backtrack T2 to get unreliable atgun on which you must spend munition on top of that to pen a okw pz4
|
i dont consider myself biased by any means, and can say that with earnest, but the when using the jackson you have to fuck up to lose one, not be out played because it is so forgiving and that is the problem.
Same for the panther, tiger, king tiger, churchill etc... even the OKW Pz4 could be included into this list.
People are simply focusing too much on the Jackson in a vacuum and don't want to look a the faction as a whole. The Jackson is the only mobile dedicated AT unit USF have and this is the root issue of what the Jackson is today. Adding that the second AT unit USF have is locked behind a optional tech make the USF faction overly depending on Jackson to be its bread and butter for AT.
Note that Ranger's change with super-zook gave new opportunities to USF players (at least on 1vs1) to be less dependent on Jackson to counter medium tanks and Panthers.
|
If you increase its price, Atgun needs to be in T0. I have the feeling people see the Jackson performance only though the teamgame scope.
USF is still the only faction that don't get reliable ATgun before the Jackson.
Dunno, maybe add an upgrade to the Stuart giving health/damage/penetration bonus so USF T1 wouldn't be completely doom with such change. |
Jackson is a Puma on steroide. More Pen, more range, more armor, more HP, better turret speed, better accu, ... its so easy to dive in kill a tank and run away. or kitting other tanks..
Jackson doesn't have hull HMG or tactical smoke. Can't compare it. |
Sure, but at least it will be consistent with how other similar units operate. All mortars were nerfed and the Pack Howie just escaped from it's grasps.
The lethal change basically had the same effect as with the first version on the Brummbar changes. The way they tried to nerf it was in the wrong direction.
On a non balance note, the FX on the explosion doesn't transmit well the impact on the shell when compare 1:1 with the 120mm.
That's not a mortar. |
Priest is already a mobile arty with 200dmg, 180 range and 3.67 lethal range (4 range 56dmg "mid")
SU Howitzer is 200dmg, 250 range, 3.61 lethal (same mid dmg as above)
Heat are 160dmg, 160 (is old vet 3 range), 2.38 lethal (3 range 24dmg mid)
It would be close to Sexton performance.
Its stock and come much earlier than any of them. Anyway I'm not arguing against your proposal, just merely pointing out that the people who are complaining about are the one complaining about anything that about other factions and your change isn't going to make them happy.
Today its good on AA vs units, tomorrow it will be as good vs static targets, same whiners will come. |
