Forgot to mention, but the WC51 and Path finders are the only real early game counter to MG + Sniper/ MG spam.
People wanna complain about USF having an effective commander, but no one makes mention of the fact USF is limited early game when dealing with Ost. |

Also Pathfinder spam is overrated lmao In the few times I played against this, my normal inf in cover was beating them in most fights. They didn't become overwhelming until they had BARs, which by that point you should be in a stronger position to counter them not OP lmao |

Just looking for some general opinions. When facing an opponent who has a lot of infantry on the field is it more beneficial to upgrade the M5 with it's AA guns or to continue to use it as a mobile reinforcement point and limited fire support with it's 50.cal? |

Yep, this is my point. I made this thread because too many times I was trying to flank the MG, the sight bonus gave away my position allowing the enemy player to react in time. It's a pretty huge advantage. Especially given how much of an advantage the MG42 is already giving the Ost player. |

USF isn't supposed to rely on RE.they are not meant to be an alternative to rifles. They are not supposed to be able to fight anything unsupported. Their job, as the name may hint towards, is to be in the rear. They are basically ostroppen teir that trade squad size (and thus combat power) with utility. They can do a lot of they have to, but none of it well. They are stop gap, reserve infantry not combat infantry.

They used to be useful against Kubels thanks to their rate of fire. The reduction in rof for extra accuracy was dumb imo.
Yeah, I'll admit I've been shocked when I've seen them manage to take out a retreating kubel a few times. Agreed, since their damage is pretty poor. |
