LMG42 is not a sidetech, it's included unlike con grenades. Granted, 7man comes free with teching T4, but when soviets have teched to T4 you should already have tanks on the field, which is OST's strong point anyways, not its infantry. After that how do you justify less costly unit out performing another. Because the games gonna reach a point where every player has access to all tech and only resources will be spent on unit and upgrades. What justification does tech requirement have then of less costly units out performing more costly one. There isn't any other wise OST t4 units would be priced lower Since they come later than all other vehicles but that wouldn't make sense in end game(or even post tech game) Cons are a bigger manpower and fuel investment, sorry to say. Well and munitions too. You have to buy the grenade package or risk getting shat on by units in buildings or light vehicles. You don't get 7man until t4 or you spend manpower and fuel to get it earlier at t3. You pay nothing for grenadier squads to unlock their abilities. Nor do you pay anything to unlock VSL. It's 99% intended as a balancing measure; to delay the ability's activation. The fact it makes it less likely for you to reload during the ability was just a small side-effect. Right, but unlike incendiary rounds where it makes sense to reload because you're switching to a different type of ammunition you aren't actually, so it's silly. I think it would make more sense if they loaded in some kind of tracer ammunition for the duration of the ability. Just a visual effect, and you could play it off as the combination of sustained fire and the tracer rounds have a stronger pinning effect because it's scarier or something. In: COH2 Gameplay

You know what, that might be neat. Lost models reinforced would get the new uniform so it doesn't just instantly swap out on the field. I don't think it should be based on tech though. Instead I think it should be based on how long the match has been going on for. In: COH2 Balance

The difference is he's talking about a situation where you play aggressively. Like he said, an AT gun crewed by pathfinders gets extra vision with no downsides. You can attack move an AT gun like that and hit tanks with little to no downside. Tanks with spotting scopes lose their vision bonus while moving, so they actually can't do that. In: COH2 Balance

The fact of the matter is that coldtech makes defensive play much too strong. Who dares wins. I bet you wouldn't call the normandy landings an alternate play either. /s What was that one quote? Something about timidity does more damage than audacity given the same amount of knowledge? Of course, if everyone agrees that blizzards are too hard to mount an offense during and decides to simple wait out the blizzard then you'd never know whether there was an effectove way to do so other than waiting it out. Either way, it's not going to be re-implemented as long as nobody wants it. But I disagree that blizzards are as hopless as naysayers make it out to be. Yes, it probably requires fine tuning, but so did the rest of the game at the time blizzards were part of normal gameplay. And look how far the rest of the game has come. I think it was unfortunate that blizzards were removed so early into the life cycle. In: COH2 Balance
