Iam the only one who thinks this MG is to weak for a .50 cal round? I actually fire the m2 while in the service and i have to say that this weapon is not meant to suppress, its design to tear apart the cover and man behind cover. It should be tearing apart light armor vehicles as well.

Please do not argue about the real life features of the weapon, it's pointless. M2HB has the best stats damage-wise you can look it up, its major issue which makes it a bad choice is its fragility. The gunner dies from angina when he sees a horde of Obers, they other panic and shoot each other.

In game mechanics, this weapon should effectively suppress the enemy, which it can't.

m2 has same problem as all the other hmg weapons teams. suppression is not consistent.

The 50 cal could use the same "partial cover negation" statistic that the Obers have on their magical STGs, lol.

What? No. Its a feature that your .50 cal that was known to punch through Panzer 4 armor is virtually indistinguishable from the MG42 except for the lack of incendiary rounds (and was that sprint I saw that US machine gun crews get? Because they're going to run with a fucking M2?)

We all have seen what a M2 .50 Cal can do to concrete or metal. It's just plain stupid that Relic added this HMG and made it so powerless. It should melt light vehicles and light tanks, not to talk about infantry or cover.

The actual HMG reminds more of the .30 cal like the one we can see here:

I am surprised that two people actually think the M2 is ok. I can never find a use for it. Although I can with the MG42 and the Maxim. Its too expensive, comes too late, and dies too fast.

I have resorted to building an FP behind my troops as a fall back during a Push. This of the M15 are reliable suppression. The M2 is simply not. It can be used to Great Success. So can the SU76. That doesnt mean its not crap overall.

Personally relic can feel free to mess with its Arc or Setup time or whatever else they want as long as they make it so it can survive at LEAST a single Vet Ober Squad or Rnade from the front.

Because lets face it. You can micro all you like but the other player is a player as well. Not some stupid bot. You will get flanked from time to time. And when you do the 50 is a loss.

Sometimes, I just skip the .50cal completely and build a forward fighting position instead, cheap and locks the area down.

the M2 can definitely be powerful and i've used it effectively on several occasions, but it the cost and fragility are serious marks against it.

A wider arc is all it needs. It's the best mg in game imo.

Reinforcement cost doesn't help at all.

Yes I think a damage oriented MG could help USF a lot; especially against light vehicles since LT doesn't have any AT at his tier that doesn't cost fuel.
