I think WF is too blobby, but even so, it's waay less blobby than CoH 1 - airborn, anyone? I wouldn't really look into CoH 1 because it didn't handle blobbing well at all, and like Katitof mentioned, putting CoH 1 MGs into the game without all the crap that annulled them will probably lead to weird results.

Also, would everyone at least agree that blobbing has become more viable since WF came out, even if you don't think it's a problem?

Look, me and others have given several tips all over the thread. You can consider some of them and try to improve your play, or stay on the forums and wait for everything you don't like to be nerfed. But only the first option will improve your chance to win.

Speaking for myself, I don't believe I've lost any games due to blobbing, but rather to other things ... I just think blobbing is more viable than it should be.

I'm thinking about doing a detailed VOD that breaks this game down to explain all the decisions I made and the decisions my opponent made.

Should be up in the next hour or so.

Try to control blobs as Wermaht using MG42 next time and share your opinions.

MG 42 has difficulty controlling 2 Conscripts 20 feet apart, how is it going to control half a dozen?

Another solution would be to make all artilleries more powerful. A blob running into a few mortar shells would be sent packing before you know it.

The poor effectiveness of the mounted MG 42 as well as the handheld MG 42 makes me wonder if they even went forward with the MG3 and M60 in CoH2's universe, since the Maxim and M1919 are already superior :P

Since when is the M1919 superior to the LMG 42? They are almost identical. The lmg42 has slightly more long range dps while the m1919 has slightly more close range dps. The difference is that riflemen can carry 2 m1919.

Also the HMG42 does well in suppressing real blobs, imho better than a maxim.

But the M1919 in-game can suppress, it is the only LMG that can passively suppress.

and bar can be fired while on the move which encourages blobbing or spamming...

In total, with these both difference makes a HUGE difference between them.. Imagine that a gren squad having 2 of LMG and fires on the move! disgusting... Should be fixed USF riflemans

blob is a lazy way to play, but very effective .. so why micro 4, 5 unit separately at the same time if not need it to?

that itself is a problem.. peaple will get bad at the game and dont evolve ...

the possibilities of this game are huge but the meta... will never evolve if peaple don need to.

blobbing is so powerful ad seemingly unstoppable not because it is easy, but because of the plethora of effective long range weaponry in the game.

lets look at the forces most likely to blob. USF, OKW and Ostheer. soviets rare blob because their infantry are the worst at range and rely mainly on closing in to deal damage.

as for USF, OKW and Ostheer. their main infantry are rifles, volks + falls/panzerfusiliers/obersoldaten and grenadiers. in all these infantry units, they are all capable of being upgraded with or comes with powerful lmgs that provide a huge boost in max range dps and its really easy to hit 80 long range dps and insta kill a model upon contact.

so here's the problem to why their very counters are being countered by blobbing tactics. once reaching a critical mass, whereby a blob as more then 80 long range dps, hmg are focused down and wiped within seconds even before suppression kicks in.

the solution is simple, all infantry long range weapons, must be nerfed. be it dp28, bars, browning, lmg42, lmg34, fg42 and g43s. they must be nerfed at long range and are only capable of insanely high dps in medium to short ranges.

currently, i would recommend a 20% cut in accuracy for long range for those weapons as a starting base.

this will make long range fights more drawn out and completely demolish the power of blobs as hmg are less prone to insta wipe through small arms and trying to close in with an entire blob will be destroyed by hmg and better positioned units, since moving into position means getting into effective range of another who is already stationary and ready to fire.

So if you've spent a lot more mp than your opponent, you should win regardless of tactics? It's one thing if they flank the MG but it's stupid when they just walk right into it and kill it anyway.

Blob spent MOAR, blob should win.

Really enjoyed that video Dullahan - hope to see more.
Made me realize though that people are using quite different definitions of 'blob'.

I disagree, i think it's very uneffective if you have the means to control it.
