Yes I'm excited,Cynthia and relic aren't lying when there saying there's reason to be excited. This game is going in the right direction.
I wish I could share non idiotic alpha details with you without being burned at the stake, but it is what it is. Just be patient and don't believe everything you hear from some idiot leak source.
Apparently you're not in the same alpha as I am. |
Just finished a match where the stuka AT strafe killed a 90% hp ISU-152 in one pass
lolz
I once saw a game where an Il-2 bombing run finished off a Tiger!1!111!!!!
Guess what? That's what happens if you don't move your shit when the red flares drop... |
CAS is fine mostly but there are 3 things around the CAS which make it OP.
1. Plane crashed due to AA unit. AA unit should counter planes, that's obvious. Right now, AA will sjot down planes (mostly after strafe) and the plane will fall down at your side. Double win for Axis. In team games you can get over 20 crashes. Once I lost more unit due to crashes than to my opponent.
2. Some maps, where battlefront is close to the edge, make CAS completly undodgeable. 2,5-3s since fist flare, which means you must be freaking machine or you must doing nothing, only watching your Scott. 3s is way to fast. You cant dodge it. Rails and Metal is the worst here.
3. Spaming planes in 4v4. When you are facing at least 2 players with CAS, and you see planes every 15sec, you can't do nothing. For example. You are trying to flank with army, but you have 2 retreating units to the base and Priest/Katy behind the lines. All the time you see planes. You have to sacrafice micro attack to check your Priest or units in base if they are target for planes. It means your attack is lacking micro, you need look behind the line all the time. Allies (USF) already need intensive micro. With planes everywhere it's just freaking micro.
The most freaking thing was when I had 4 units healing in the base. I heard Stuka dive bomb so I moved them. I dodged this bomb but there were 3 more (2x CAS, 2x Jaeger Armor) in case if I moved hehe... 4 squads vanished. Very low chances to dodge.
I'm still wondering what qualifies you to be a strategist.
The core issue with this commander is the redistribute ressources, it is what allows you to call the planes whenever you want, given they are not on cooldown. It's also what allows you to spam everything muni reliant. |
You confused countering with avoiding.
No I didn't. Avoiding the strafes is the counter to this offmap reliant strategy. |
anti infantry strafe, if done right will AOE suppress surrounding units as far as 25m away. it's not a matter of blobbing or not.
anti tank strafe takes minimum of 4 seconds to about 6 seconds for its payload to hit. with tank's accelerations in mind, you have about 3-4 seconds to move your tank or anything like t34/76 will die most of the time. the trick is to move when they are reconing.
dive bomb completely nullifies ml20 and b4. which is kinda lame.
to not have any tanks literally means you have been spamming air strikes like motherf-er. its not hard to balance between these cheese strikes and getting tanks.
i think this commander's cheeseness start from 2v2, but it is defintely cheese in 3v3+
Countering the strafes and the divebomb is actually all about combat awareness and thus skill. So I totally understand that some less experienced and less active players have problems dealing with it. The doctrinal hardcounter meta considering static artillery and the doctrinal hardcounter meta in general are retatded, no question.
What I actually find more annoying with this commander is the amount of tellers, lmg grens, riflenades, shrekgrens etc. it comes with. nearly infinite ammo suply makes Ostheer really really strong. |
Fuel conversion means no or less tanks.
AI strafe aint much of a problem if you don't blobb, after all its just one pass.
AT strafe is powerful, yet it comes with red flares and gives you plenty time to move your tank.
The dive bomb can end a game if you manage to hit the blob. you can avoid this by not blobbing and not mass retreating.

He seems a little inexperienced imo. Just going on some of the his posts regarding large team games and some of the ways hes voiced his discontent. If the powers to be think he is a good choice - then so be it and good luck.
+1 |
And QUEEN RATCHET too.
He'd have to join the Angry Bears first you know. |
snap
A new strategist I see. Congrats! Can't be long for Katitof to recieve the same honour then. |
With the Wehrmacht's units, I find that it was the most tactically/operationally effective in 41 and 42, and much less so afterwards.
Besides recurring training/tactical leadership defects in 44-45', the Soviet tactical command culture was a bizarre weakness, as it tended to force units to be overly aggressive without encouraging creativity, and forced them to attack the same dangerous place over and over with the resultant losses.
When the war began, the soviets lacked experienced and skilled officers in the higher tiers, due to the great purge. The Germans on the other hand, had alot of those. During the course of the war many of the "good" Wehrmacht officers retired had to retire or got killed while the soviet staffs gained more and more experience and learned from their enemy.
I think this point gets neglegted way too often. |
