Honestly comet is less of a problem, in terms of armor. Panther has same 260 frontal armor and 90 rear armor, while coment has like 110 or 120 rear armor, but 160 less HP.
On the other hand all Churchills are just stupidly OP in terms of survivability. When I checked them, them both crock and AVRE had 1080 HP and standart one has 1400 HP while having 290 frontal and 180 (!!!!!) rear armor. To give it perspective, PIV at close range has 120 penetration I belive and JP4 has 185 penetration at medium range.
Not to mention that regular churchill has better penetration then PIV.
But on the topic, its in general problem with all heavy tanks (soviet especially with KVs), when medium tanks are not effective against them even from rear (aside from doc.ones), while its honestly really stupid considering you can out-flank and out play your opponent but it still wont pay off.
Comet is at least somewhat killable if you flank it with mediums.
Panther on the other hand has best excample of it, because even T34\76 with its 90 penetration at max range will penetrate it if panther is possitioned badly. |
Both rapid and reserves should be remake, its a bad desing in a first place to base your abilities around loosing units.
Better to just remove thouse abilities and replace them with underused abilities from existing commanders.

I just testet it. It can actually happen. But only on close to mid range ( and only if Obers are Vet 0 and Penals Vet 3).
Probably because of the penals passive. I'm not sure but its the only way it sounds logical, considering its 4 rifles vs 4 rifles.

Ost really should have sniper and play with OKW supporting it and covering it. British has no answers for snipers early on and you will bleed him badly if he choses to rush 5 men sections instead of sniper.
As double OKW you really should just go for Fallshims\JLI or Fusiliers. Because volks cant handle UKF with volks, obersts arive way too late and LVs will be answered with AEC or AT guns.
With punzerfusiliers you will still bleed early on, but at least their gewehr upgrade makes them quite strong.

Obers and Panzergrens out class Riflemen but what do all three of these units have in common? They're all non-doctrinal units. So you have standard Axis units that will outpreform USF units despite the claim "Allies (especially USF) have better infantry". So the truth is USF doesn't actually have better infantry at all. The only exception is doctrinal Paratroopers, I don't think there is a better infantry unit in the game but that's limited to Airborne or Recon.
The fact that you are comparing Maine-line inf to semi-elite ones, which are not awalable strate off the bat and cost more and by the time they come there're LVs and vetted inf to fight against. Does this bothering you or you have US flag over your eyes? I know it's the second but I'm just curious. |
Honestly I wish Obers timing could be on first building built, and MG/STG unlock upon Panzer HQ built. I still think they come a bit late, and when they do, they have to fight for their lives against vetted mainline infantry because they come so late.
Would be a bit OP if you ask me, considering they perform somewhat like vet3 grens strate of the bat and being able to have them rather quickly if you go for med HQ.
Its more like Schwerer HQ could have been cheaper to build, while cost difference transfered to its upgrade. In this case you would be able to just afford them ealier, without changing how faction works. But I agree, that by the time obersts arive its pretty much pointless to use them without LMG, which is a shame.
I wish something could be done to help Volks be less squishy during the late game. One thing I suggested is having a doctrine similar to Soviet airborne where instead of SVT's, you can drop G43's for your infantry.
Vet5 STG volks are good for late game, they can stand more or less ground vs vetted uped inf somewhat, problem is all their power comes from vet and if you lose vetted volks there is pretty much no replacement aside from obersts\doc inf, since its already takes almost full game to vet them up.
Other mainline inf at least have powerfull upgrades (like 7 men cons) or weapons upgrades to make even un-vetted new squad somewhat usefull. |
I would argue that OKW is micro intensive since you have to play very aggressively early on due to lack of support weapons
On offtopic I disagree with that
OKW is not agressive but rather evasive, they are all about ambushing with STpios and delaying the opponent, because in a 1v1 matchup volks can effectively fight only Conscripts.
OST is defensive
USF is offensive
Soviets can chose, but closer to offensive anyway
UKF is something in between
I have been matching against top 20 players in 3v3 and it’s exponentially hard to deal with sniper, especially when lights and mgs/indirect rolls in.
Well depending on their build, when they throw sniper after they got enouth mainline inf its hard, but by that time you can get somesort of the counters. Like JLI for excample.
If they build snipers in early game, then I find its easy in 3v3 to just suicide rush it with kubel when opportunity allows. Because even if kubel dies, you still will win in a MP bleed anyway. |
80% of voters are 300+ or trash from team games. Thats why okw is bad for them. Since its most noob frendly faction. Any faction would be bad in thier hands. Okw is not weak at all. I would rather nerf certain things like obers and panters

The idea that the Jackson needed ANY nerfing is so laughable. It only serves ONE task, how dare it be good at that. If it were a good against infantry like the Panther, King Tiger, Panzer IV, Jagtiger, Elefant, I could see how it might be a problem and need a nerf but it's not
